I understand the wanting to be a team and also the convenience (like Ruben mentioned with the away games) but it's so annoying how pushy the teammates are about Scott's showering. Like it really isn't that big of a deal when it's for Scott's comfort and happiness. Lots of people have personal boundaries and certain things (esp smth as personal as being naked around a bunch of people) can be incredibly upsetting for some who could have endless reasons for that uncomfort. Like idk i would be uncomfortable with it (for my own reasons) and if my teammates kept denying me a simple request it'd be upsetting :(

It's a bit of a delay for his impulsivity and adds the filter he normally lacks, so he improves a bit and can consider if he really should say it like that when it's not spoken dialogue XD

He got a text from Scott saying "what are you wearing?" and that is, like, THE quintessential phone sex line, and we know how horny or at the very least how lewd Carter likes to be, even accounting for his re-closeting for the team. I was so sure that that picture he sent was going to be... A bit more of a strong come on, but instead we get this sweet innocent sincere flirtation on his part, because he knows Scott is uncomfortable with so much as an innuendo. And why should this surprise us? It shouldn't, we already know from the earlier dorm visit that Carter can be profoundly considerate, even if he does vascillate rapidly between that and unhinged ADHD gremlin. But what these pages reveal is the driving force behind his better nature, the trigger that makes him considerate. As I said, this photo struck me as a vulnerable, sincere flirtation, which says to me that Carter gets thoughtful when it's the queer part of his brain doing the driving. After all, that's the part of him that wanted to warn scott, it's carter's queerness that makes him think about things like the importance of personal privacy, and the sort of mob mentality that you can get on an adolescent's sports team, and he knows that a warning and an ally may not be much but it's better than nothing in the face of what he can so easily anticipate may snowball out of control. Carter may identify as foolish, but being gay, *actively* leaning into being gay and everything else that comes with it makes him wiser and kinder. God damn, this kid deserves the world.

While feeling guilty that he was doing something forbidden but curiosity was bigger. Then there was a secretly fully embracing phase (the Tommy relationship time, where he felt accepted and okay like he was for a short while) and when that ended (for different reasons), he went back to even more guilt and the denial phase in which he is currently in started. With the "I can change myself and become "normal" mindset, and that everything before was just mistakes and weak willpower :-D

It's just a hazing mentality principle that EVERYONE has to go through the same suffering and if Scott showers somewhere else, they can't check if he showers with cold water and pulling himself out of the punishment is seen as super disrespectful towards the older players who had to do the same shit last year XD
