Novae Encyclopedia Part 3

Comments

👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 gobbling up all the lore! It's interesting to me that Morganas' wings (unless it's Only Sesam with wings? 👀) can serve as amplifiers, and being a part of them physically, I have to wonder if a morgana's wings get hurt either, do they lose some of their precision when it comes to illussions? Can they get hurt from overuse? Can their wings heal? My brain is now going a thousand miles an hour imagining this as a metaphor for artists and repetitive strain injuries xD

I realized that I read the previous one but didn’t get around to commenting. I had a lot to say but think most people said what I would have anyway. I definitely want to learn more about menders. Would a morgana whose wheat grows close to the source, who is also a magoi, have additional abilities? Thinking along the lines of Avatar, I wonder if someone like Eve, who can control water/ice, could potentially control blood, etc. Does River Lethe water freeze? I have also always been interested in the grasshopper “horses.” Are there other types of magical creatures? I think if I lived in this world, I’d want to work with them, like Hagrid lol. That makes me wonder what Sesam would do in the future… would they still take care of them? Maybe make them look like racehorses and win a ton of money to continue caring for them in secret? Ha ha. As a horse person, I don’t condone racing… just saying.

Blusalee

That's interesting. I remember in a previous factoid, it was stated that Sulvain would like to take on a pupil, but was very particular about who he would choose. https://www.novaecomic.com/comic/faction-factoid

Blusalee

it might be like any other craft, maybe? like, once you understand the theory (aka live by the ideals of your faction), refine your technique and stomach the nausea provoked by the scythe’s metal, you’re good to go, lol. maybe a rite of passage to commemorate too, like going to the field by yourself for the first time, instead of guided by your master? 👀

Fond Phantom

that might be it too! he’s the last master because the rest of them were k!lled, burned at the stake and such, so sulvain doesn’t want to put anyone else in danger, for he knows there’s only so much he can do.

Fond Phantom

Yes more info about Sulvain’s faction please! 😄 And I can’t help but wonder how do the newer necromancers become masters?

BT

His Master seemed very caring 🥺

Missiek43

That's an interesting question for sure! He seems to find solice in doing things on his own, like when he ran from Vivi and the others to fight Hargrave and find Raziol. I wonder if being alone after Udaya passed is a trauma response. Perhaps he doesn't want an acolyte because he's afraid of getting them hurt and not being able to protect them???

Missiek43

Y'all got me reading about the entire history of chrysanthemums now

Em

i wonder if sulvain not seeking an heir is a personal choice (because he thinks he might not be a good teacher, something like that) or a decision made after noticing how necromancy and other related practices aren't as welcome as they were before. either way, love this piece of lore! thank you! <3

Fond Phantom

NEW LORE!

Sang Steppenwolf

I say that sulvains faction had the conjoining idea of kinship and bringing peace…though that changed for a while back in the day with sulvain
