Old Novae concept sketches, Factoids and AUs

Back when we were first working on the story, Jen did some concept art to get the sort of feel we wanted. The first one is Death and the field and the second image is a concept for the first personification of Death.

I'm not sure if this counts as a spoiler, but Death in the Novae universe is personified by people who existed on earth. Depending on the era different people take on the role of Death. In the 1600s, she's a Chinese concubine. In the picture above, the first personification, she's a Pythia, or an oracle of Delphi in Greece.

The objects behind Death on page 192 actually represent the Deaths that came before her. The little apollo statue represents the first Death.

Jen actually wrote a script for a comic about her. If we don't get around to the comic we may share the script at some point. :D

The last two pictures are a storyboard sketch and a modern sketch with the Orion Nebula in the back.

This one was a super silly Little Mermaid AU where Sulvain was a lonely merman who gives his voice to become friends, and eventually lovers, with Prince Raziol. XD I actually like this one a lot, it made me laugh so much when we were working on it. Maybe we'll post the script with some more sketches later down the line. XD

Last but not least... Kittens...

Not an AU per se, but I was having trouble drawing people that day so... haha~
