Hello everyone and welcome new Patrons! ππ
Today is a very special day for Novae. Three years ago on October 7th 2016, the first 6 pages went up on our website. It's been an incredible journey since then. We learned so much about art and storytelling and we met so many incredible Novae readers. When we started the story we could not have imagined what it would become and how much it would mean to us. Thank you all so much for reading so far, we are so excited to show you all where the story is headed.
The above sketch is a redraw of the first illustration we ever did for Novae. At the time, we had just written what is now chapter 8 and were feeling quite emotional and enamored with the characters. We were just writing for fun, but the desire to share their story with the world was becoming stronger and stronger day by day. It's hard to believe we're now 300 pages in!
Almost all of the pins for Constellation patrons over $100 have gone out! More to come soon! We'll keep sending out pins periodically as patrons reach the goal. We'll need to order more soon~ :3
Postcards and stickers for constellation patrons will be going out next week!

The next early page will go out tomorrow, Jen has been having some tummy troubles lately so we haven't been pumping out the pages as fast as we'd like. But we're almost done penciling till the end of the chapter! (9 pages!)
We'll be traveling this month so our schedule is pretty tight this month. But we're getting ahead before we leave~
Thank you all so much for being our patrons and reading Novae. It so difficult to express what it means to us with words, but having you all here and being able to share this story with you brings us so much joy. ;__; ππ

Hmmm itβs tough to say for sure, I donβt really know if thereβs a specific formula for it. We definitely try to find specific face types for both of them through real life models. Then we sort of shape their features to fit what we see in our heads. XD it takes a lot of trial and error. Even looking back and the first couple chapters I can see that we were still trying to find the right look for them. So I guess our advice would be to draw from pictures of real people and then try to match to look you see in your head with those proportions as a base. :3 does that make sense? ππ

This seems like a good place haha I was wondering if you guys have any advice for drawing men, specifically their jaw shapes? without making them look excessively manly? Like Sulvain and Raziol are both masculine looking, but it's gentle :0
