Cougar Translation

Other than the original miniature falling a little short, Battletech is full of good Cougar art, so I never wanted to change it much. More wanting to collect all the best parts and put them together.
Most of that boiled down to combining Matt Plog's great lineart with the large rear reactor housing from Mech Commander. I like a lot of the MC design, but it's also just a tiny sprite.
I unintentionally gave the new miniature a similar pose to the tro art, so here's a side by side shot.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to detail the change, but it can be felt, for lack of a better word.

2020-01-10 00:25:26 +0000 UTCA lot of people think of proportion changes starting around 10% or more. Or that they don't care about or notice errors below that. In my system we're most often doing 5% pushes, and in some cases even 2% makes noticeable critical differences. It's that extra bit of precision that fine tunes these designs.
