This is one I kinda started of my own initiative, but was obviously going to be needed eventually, so there was no risk in diving into it. On the left was an initial piece that I threw at management, on the right is a near final version with most requested changes applied.
The primitive Orion provided several direct carry over shapes such as the feet, pelvis, and cockpit inspiration. Marco's cover piece had a nice shoulder launcher, right arm, and knee plating. The rest is me applying my usual "add more shape" theme to the base Orion art.
I can't wait to see this on a table as another big workhorse unit. What do you guys think of it?

Mr. Nelson's primitive design was a great foundation and I'm glad that a throughline in the design lineage is visible now. The cockpit glass is also a nice adjustment from the more sinister "evil"-rion plating on the cover of 2SW. I prefer both over the original twin eyeball viewports of the original.

The Orion is one of my all time favourite mechs anyway (It's a Baby Atlas!) and you're design really does it justice.

2019-02-23 16:08:09 +0000 UTCI may not always be very well into the lore for every mech, but I'm definitely there with thinking if a mech is common in forces we need a good design to represent it. Also agreed that the mwo version was a good improvement, but I wanted to take it further.
