Although these games and sports might not make much of an appearance in the comic, it will show up in the background and someone may use the terms in conversation! Besides, its fun to think about what sort of games these people and animal-like people would play!
=======================
GAMES & SPORTS______________
CHILDREN’S GAMES:
- Serpents:
- A game of tag.
- One player starts off as the ‘serpent head’ and the others run around.
- Anyone who the head tags will then join hands with him. Creating an ever lengthening chain of children.
- The two kids on either end of the chain can tag people as they have free hands (the head and the tail)
- Popular in Loxaera
- Flying Feathers:
- Children throw a feather in the air and then try to keep it off the ground by using paper fans.
- If anyone physically touches a feather, it’s cheating.
- The goal is to see how long the feather can be kept up in the air.
- Popular in Montelupine.
- Knuckle Cracking:
- Children make fists and punch each other’s knuckles.
- Whoever gives up first / has the lowest pain tolerance, loses.
- It’s a fierce little game that sometimes ends in blood.
- Popular in Oberth Ra
- Singing Search:
- Someone is blindfolded and another child stands still somewhere in the playing area.
- The goal is for the blindfolded child to find and tag the immobile kid.
- The other children sing. They sing louder the closer the blindfolded child gets to his target.
- They all take turns.
- Popular in Cauterin
ADULT GAMES:
- Thief’s Hand:
- A card game.
- Similar to poker.
- There are different hands you play.
- The better hand takes the pot of bets (wins)
- Each player gets 5 cards. 3 in their hand, 2 face up for everyone to see.
- You can steal one of an opponent’s cards each match (But only one of their three hidden cards at random)
- The card suits are Crows, Mice and Lions
- Popular in every country.
SPORTS:
- Creels:
- A ball game.
- Played without using your hands.
- Any other bodypart (head, knee, hip, shoulder, etc) is okay.
- The goal is to kick the ball into the creel (fisherman’s basket) which is hung from somewhere high up. Usually hung from a tree branch for casual games or a pole for official games.
- The other team can try to intercept but they can’t use their hands either.
- The ball is the size of a large grapefruit.
- The first team to get twenty points (or however many points decided) wins.
