Tiger Icons : Process

Working on the icons!! There will be 18 total which hopefully is enough! Will be giving you guys versions with both light and dark backgrounds as per your preferences. I always like dark themes myself to save my eyes the strain. But bright is cuter!

Tiger Wallpaper process

It was a tie between Lion and Tiger but I will be starting with Tiger first!! Here is a glance at the wallpaper. I keep a screenshot of my phone’s lockscreen in the background so I can make sure the wallpaper fits nicely around the on screen objects like the time and widgets.

Ok so here is a question for y’all.

As I am a bit flooded with comic work (TMI vol8 + a secret job) I don’t have the willpower to draw Land of Lions pages right now too. Though I have outlined the next ten chapters!

So here is something I was wondering!! I am not a AAA novelist and I’ve always been too scared to share stories online without comic panels to back it up. But do y’all have any interest at all in some prose updates in the meantime? Specifically some ...

I included it, even though its wildly different, but the initial sketch was for an interior. But then I liked the idea of a more open and spacious “road trip” vibe more. Rather than the enclosed car, which doesn’t give the same open road feel.

The Last Stop : Process

I obviously had trouble deciding on his shirt color 💦 but eventually decided on black to help draw the eye to him since the image has a lot of different colors as it is. At least when compared to my usual more monochromatic palettes.

The Aftermath : Process

The sketch for this one was pretty extra clean. I think by the fourth pic Im getting used to drawing snow. The colors were a bit more of a struggle. I originally intended for it to be a sunrise image — marking the end of the battle and hard night.

Instead I decided to stick to the night in order to make the cold tundra beyond the trees look even colder and empty. The little fire and warmth left is back with the hunter, who the warlock turns back to despite their fight.

February 2024 Poll

Oddly. Even though this picture is much closer up its also a lot busier than the others in the set. Probably because its an action scene rather than the calm before the storm. I think that its leaps and bounds better than my previous attempt to draw this scene years ago.

The Warlock : Process

Coloring snow at night is particularly hard. Because even at night, snow is a pretty bright light blue. So instead its better to show its night by the values instead of the colors. By giving everything in the image a similar value, you get the feeling that its night (there is less contrast at night than during the day!)
