I want them to succeed - I don’t look at football the way you do. Post Villa how do,you feel

Elliot, thank you for finally saying what needs to be said, for being justifiably critical. Clive, I love you, but for the love of god please stop making so many excuses, its been two years of dire dire football. Also- where’s Tim?

Great podcast , so many talking points , agree that without Xhaka , we should adapt and play more on transition as we cannot have the same structure . Agree on Lacazette playing more but with the news about number of games players will miss in African nations , we need to ensure that Laca and others are in good shape to play regularly

Completely agree. At what point are these guys ready to say that arteta is the main problem

You can’t keep focusing on the players as the issue

Cant we use a 3-5-2? Rams, tomi white gabi, saka esr partey lokonga tierney, laca pepe

Also, with lucas torreira and guendouzi on loan this year, and our valid concerns for the afcon, it feels a bit daft to have not kept one around until a replacement was purchased. It would be better than nothing!

Guys, I don't know what you think, but a RW imo would make a difference. With an iwb our pattern of play means we don't use the top right hand area of the pitch. It's almost as if the iwb needs to be on the left, because our wingers are left footed and attacking rb on the right. So a RW surely has to be an ambition?

Sorry - must have got a bit hot on my input

Any reason we don't try to play with two up top? Seems to me all of our strikers would be much better suited to a pairing.

Great stuff as always. Clive's audio really blown out/gainy in the last part of the pod. Really tough listening on headphones!

Best question ever: “What does Clive smell like?” I giggled.

You made the 3 correct points/questions but we missed out the most important part. Good football? No Good results? No Good/effective tactics? No The 4th and most important point. Why is a manager with no previous track record of any of the above and more of enough time/money to make the above satisfactory still here?

Elliot you crease me up

When we done WHAT to midfielders?!?

I agree with the sentiments here. Surprisingly there is no proper dissection of manager. Player to player if anybody says that the palace team is better then we don't know football. Viera missed his talisman and yet put a team that gave us a fight and played better than us. We missed Xhaka and the team was dysfunctional. There is pattern here last season it was Tierney and we struggled. We played false nine when we didn't have striker and was dysfunctional. This season we had the early games and now Xhaka. There is a pattern here and if we don't recognize that then we are ourselves to be blamed. Or may be it's a Arsene Wenger problem.

A team is a reflection of their manager. Rigid, structured with no room for players strengths but the system's

Lacazette and martinelli changed the game. Martinelli won territory high up the pitch (something Pepe didn’t manage that entire second half) and forced the situation for the final corner. Very underrated cameo on his part

"60 minute players", "Purple patch players", Isn't the manager responsible for squad fitness and preparing the team to play 90 minutes? It is amazing how much you let the manager off. He prepares the team to face problems on the pitch. It is not 3 months into his tenure. Our patterns of play tell us who we are. We are not a punk rock football team we are low block, slow build up team.
