You absolutely have the right to say that. I tried really hard to make the point in this episode that our judgments about ethics/morality are always impacted by culture. No one should have to feel shame about their country. But we can have concerns about things our country does and the people who weird power. I know I have those concerns myself. Regardless, I certainly understand how the conversation may have sounded overly biased and I accept that some of the bias is built into how we are raised and educated

As Saudi citizen I didn’t follow you here to listen to you judging the morality and the culture of my country and my people Very disappointed from you all You are just typical western people All the things you know about the world are the things your media tell you You are very easy to be driven towards anything once it’s touched your feelings I have just one thing to say: Saudi Arabia is only 90 years old and we are already the richest, strongest and safest country in the world and that’s because we have great culture and morality even if you don’t like it. I think I have the right to say that Back now to The Arsenal

Have Newcastle had it that bad? Look at the likes of Bolton and Blackpool...

Great discussion by Elliot and the other gents; and an awesome podcast in general. Please may Elliot (or anyone else) (re)explain why we can't have transfer and wage caps, as well as relegation/promotion..

For those that haven't had a chance to see it, I'd recommend watching this documentary to get better context behind the Khashoggi murder: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dissident

100%, one of the reasons Arsenal was my club. Was our way of doing things. The Arsenal way. To enter in to a non competitive environment. Would mean nothing to me. That was the main reason the Super League was so offensive to me.

For me as an Arsenal fan. When City win the league it means nothing, it doesn't count. It doesn't hurt when they win a trophy. If Liverpool or United win it hurts because that is comparible to me and what we as a club could do. Maybe that's because they are historic rivals but I would more take it that we can compete financially with them. I suppose I would add Chelsea in to the City grouping but their proximity to us and the Pride of London tag hurts. It is so hard already to see players who earn more in a week than most hard working people earn in a lifetime. To see common ground. Maybe if we were still competitive it wouldn't feel like this. But for me this nearly feels like time to switch off. If only I could.

Kroenke is probably a really bad guy and probably has some skeletons in the closet. But just saying use common sense is not much of an argument is it? Any specific examples as to why Kroenke is immoral?

Paul youre very naive for defending Stan Kroenke. “He’s just a successful business man” my god man open your eyes to the world we live in. Yes you are correct that nation states are different in morality ( especially the Saudis) then other billionaires but Stan Kroenke is anything but “just a successful businessman and if you use common sense you will see that.

All billionaires are bad but some are worse than others

Fans objecting to the super league proposal haven’t realised that it was ALREADY HERE

Couldn't agree more. It's pretty cringy.

Great post, incredibly thought provoking and I’m sad like Clive, I’m also jealous of the Newcastle fans and the realistic shift in perspective for me will save my sanity 🤦‍♂️😂

For someone apparently so financially literate, Paul really doesn't understand the nature of becoming a billionaire... Couldn't keep listening through his ode to imaginary, moral wealth.

Hahah just currently listening at work in Perth Western Australia. Shout out to any other Aussies who’s Christmas has been ruined!

Thanks

😂 knew someone would say something

You shit! Way to ruin Christmas for me! 😂😂😂

Fantastic conversation. I think everyone added meaningful perspective. I resonate deeply with Paul’s pride in Arsenal in the good guys/bad guys paradigm. I’m excited by who we are and what we are doing at this moment in time, and I will keep believing in Arsenal. COYG

Arsenal are genuinely finished as a top club

Coby

😂

I don’t know how to feel…all a bit inevitable

I think he means wait for the pod 😂

Waiting for Arsenal to get a crook owner?

I’ve been waiting since I heard abt Newcastle’s takeover

javaughan clarke

I am curious. How would you feel about MBS buying Arsenal? I would stop supporting the club immediately. No doubt. How would you do?
