Brighton (a) - Instant Reaction

Elliot, Clive and Paul do their best to add some levity to a drab draw at the Amex with headlines, stock rising and two stock fallings.

Brighton (a) - Instant Reaction

Comments

The forwards issue is the next step. Basically we have 2 guys in their 30’s contract wise we are stuck. We have Pepe who flickers but no sure thing and 2 kids we are over reliant on. On a good day we feel good about that scenario. But on a day like Brighton we see the reality. This is the next step for the team - a CM eventually but a forward ASAP

How many lessons do we need Clive? We've scored in 3 of our 7 games and not beaten a good team yet

Can you guys do a pod about how fing annoying it is to listen to a game commented on by Graham L whateverthefhis name is. Like a jackhammer at 5am

Did Eliot just suggest that Potter would go to a Big Club - and then say likeThe Spuds - you calling THEM a Big Club???? 😳😳

OMG 🤯

10 points from our last 4 games was always going to be something we’d be happy with. Wasn’t our best evening but we will take the point and run after the performance 👍🏻

Not controversial, totally correct. Big loss.

Controversial but partey needs xhaka

Smart

😂

just watched the Pompey manager's post match interview - they were playing at home - just ' down the road' from Brighton - and he was saying that they knew from Thursday about the likely rainstorms today - and planned their strategy to take advantage of it - home field advantage probably used by Brighton too ⛈️☔🤣

38 minutes in and I think it’s disgraceful there’s no stock rising for Xhaka lol

I totally agree on Partey but for me after what I have seen of him so far for Arsenal he is definitely not a tough inforcer midfielder. There is too much of him getting muscled off the ball. He is not a powerhouse midfielder, so we need to accept that and partner him up to accommodate his strengths.

I don't know why but Partey cannot direct traffic, or halt momentum. Like dude, keep the ball, clatter a couple of them with minor fouls etc etc. That's a concern for a 29 year old experienced CM/DM. Clearly thats why Arteta plays Xhaka despite his limitations. We need a CM imo. But otherwise tough game, decent away point against a good team.

It seems an easy place to go but we lose that last season. Feet firmly back on the ground. This is a work in progress. The lessons learned today will not only pay off this season but going forward. So Tomiyasu is not the finish article, at £18m he was never likely to be. The togetherness and coming out without a defeat is what we cling to today. The optics of 10 points instead of 9 means so much. Its an exciting journey we are on.
