AD-Free Episode 421 - Derby Leaves Us Feeling Cross

On this edition of the Arsenal Vision Post Match Podcast Elliot (@yankeegunner) is joined by Clive (@clivepafc), Paul (@poznaninmypants) and Tim (@stillberto) to discuss an awful Derby Day. There’s lineup and system talk, plenty of debate about the Partey and discussion about what’s going on with Aubameyang. The group analyzes the amount of crosses and why it’s happening. There’s also some Mesut Ozil discussion as the pod moves into a Bellerin conversation and a discussion about the bench selection. Then there’s longer debate about the manager and how he recovers form the hole he and the team are in. All that and more on this edition of the Arsenal Vision Post Match Podcast.

Actually think Paul had the most thoughtful takes of the bunch. It is easy to loudly shout without deep thinking.

Yes I am feeling CROSS! How did you know?

Irritating to see Paul just keep on defending Arteta's decision. Shut up please.

I actually like it... An inside alert to their inner communications. As if they don't know that we know. 😉 Shhhh.

It really is down to man management. Who he is choosing is nuts. As an example, AMN credited Arteta talking him into staying, and now he can't even make the bench when it is clear he should (barring unknown behind the scenes facts).

It is just getting boring now, he simply doesn't want to reward good performances. He would rather select his yes men William, Ceballos and Xhaka. How long are we going to play and set up to be exposed.

Is there anyway that you could mute the 20 or 30 message alert tones that happen every pod?

That Starship Troopers reference was amazing 😂

27:20. you can blame Auba for a lot of things, but that pass from Bellerin was atrocious. Auba's looking for the ball to the back post into space so it would take Aurier completely out of play. If the pass is misplaced too far, it goes out of bounds -- no harm done. Bellerin's decision just sprung Spurs's counter for them. And Laca is not a 10, but he did play the two passes to give 2 of the 3 (Tierney's cross where you can criticize Auba) best chances in the game. The through ball to send Bellerin through and the find in the second half to put Auba in a somewhat 1v1 with Alderweireld.

Does he need 5 or 6 more signings or does he need to ummm, go manage at a smaller club? I mean guys how are we having this debate after watching what this job did to Wenger and Emery, the downside vs upside risk on keeping him is kinda ridiculous, *maybe* he gets top 4 in three or four seasons? or we hover from 9th-15th? Before we sack him in 2?

It’s called the Sorites Paradix, Tim 🤓
