Our Last Mesut Ozil Conversation

As Ozil's Arsenal career appears to be over, Elliot, Tim and Paul try to explain how we got here and the legacy it leaves behind. The group covers why they think he's been frozen out, the fault on both sides, the toxicity surrounding the debate, the footballer as he is now, and what we will make of this in years to come.

Our Last Mesut Ozil Conversation

Great Pod. Good to leave Clive out 😂 Football should be art - not combat ... that's why I stand with Mesut.

Can’t wait till he leaves, he distracts this club. Clive said something about ozil a few months ago which I agree with. Train hard and well and these problems and drama don’t find you

Bold prediction: it’s not the last Ozil conversation 😂

A player can both be a great player and seriously overrated that player is Mesut Ozil

“Arteta is finished?” Lol! That’s a very funny joke

I'm not a Muslim but Ozils moral values are the reason why he has been discriminated against. Its not about religion its about morals. You know that thing Arsenal likes to claim to have a lot of. Arsenal have behaved disgracefully in this situation

Let me just say Arsenal better play good attacking football this season ans win a lot of games because if they don't Arteta is finished. Ozil is still the most creative player at arsenal and Arteta just lied to the fans that his decision is based on football and that is a lie

LOL at the idea of a final Ozil pod, while information and statements continue to come out 🤣

What doesn't sit right with me is that he seems to have been dropped for non footballing reasons. You can't tell me his ability has dropped off a cliff since lockdown when he played nearly every minute under Arteta pre-lockdown. He was arguably one of our best players vs Man U and Newcastle and that was in a 4-2-3-1 formation. We're crying out for more creativity and someone to aid our ability to keep the ball in the attacking 3rd and ommitting one of our key assets hurts the team footballistically. Surely success on the pitch outweighs the politics? On an emotional level, he's been truly inspiring to watch down the years, his style and swagger is synonymous with the Arsenal I grew to love. His calmness and bravery on the ball is also contagious, others around him on the pitch try to emulate his poise and precision. To exile him for what seems to be political/financial reasons is a crime against football. The club are denying the fans a final chance to see a great talent (diminished, but no more so than Willian) perform in the red and white and I feel a little bit cheated

A quality player who’s won pretty much everything. Had some reasonable success at Arsenal. Realistically we left only one possible title behind during his time. Leicester won it . Carzolas injury was the primary reason for that. Father Time has caught up with Mezut . Good luck to him .
