Magaly-Eyes and Aaaaaaaar

Elliot is joined by Tim, Paul and Clive to cover the news of the day. First up is Gabriel and his fun to pronounce last name. After discussing that move and how our central defensive group looks for the upcoming season, the group breaks down the fixtures which sees Arsenal play every team twice. After that there's a bit of a historical recap of how Gnabry left Arsenal and whether the criticism the club constantly gets is fair. Next there's a discussion of Aouar and whether he could come to Arsenal and that move is compared and contrasted with the move for Partey. Finally there's a bit of a squad building discussion.

If Partey comes in and is brilliant in his first season which imo is highly likely, he’s immediately doubled his value, Liverpool spent 70m on a 27 year old CB who within one season turned into a 140m CB simple as

Considering Monaco sold half their squad and were about two games from being relegated, Lyon were sitting 8th in League 1 and Ajax dropped down to the Europa league this season, these young inexperienced squads don’t seem to have what it takes to go all the way, we need GOOD experience

So to conclude this show: its 2024. Serge Gnabry, now 28, has won 2 Champions League's with Bayern and is open to join Artetas PL title challengers again. Would you sign him? 😜

Nice one guys. If we land Gabriel + departure of Raul Sanllehi, I have good hope we are choosing a different strategy - focussed on u25s - now. But guess that takes time to shift our squad and could bery much understand Arteta if he's demanding proven quality to be there at this point and that means to sign Willian, Luiz and Auba. But, with Mikel, Very hopeful we will improve on this.

🎼 oh gabby! And you came and you played for the arsenal! They couldn’t take you away, oh gabby!

Favorite point made at the end- the Monaco’s/Lyon’s/Ajax’s are evidence that you can make deep UCL runs with squads built around promising players in their young-mid 20s. Let’s take a closer look at those club and recruitment models. Sick of signing old players with no upside and no resale value. COYG
