Regarding that first mingin or fair play, I'd say it's fair play as well. It doesn't bother me at all but I grew up very very poor and we had to save EVERYTHING. Ice cream definitely changes consistency if you freeze it after it melts but that flavor is still there (although it sometimes gets a freezer burn flavor). I still do it, it's such a tough habit to break!
