PSA: Apple Takes 30% of New Subscriptions

G'day everyone, just wanted to pop this here for any new members considering becoming a Patron. One of the reasons I chose to use Patreon as a way to receive backing from the community are the minimal fees charged by Patreon.
For similar reasons, I've avoided YouTube memberships on the channel because Google takes 30%, and then Apple takes 30% (on iOS devices), and it doesn't sit well with me that half of your generous contribution is essentially taxed by these corporations, when your intent is to support the goings on of a silly man in his back shed.
Apple has recently implemented policy "entitling" them to 30% of Patreon earnings raised through the use of in-app purchases on iOS devices, as well as purchases made through links found inside the patreon application.
I would strongly encourage everyone to avoid supporting their favourite creators in this way, and instead sign up using a web browser, to ensure that money is going where you intend it to.

You’re good! If a friend decides to join, they could do it on web (not via the app!) to prevent Apple from taking 30% of said friend’s donations
