Necroepilogos hiatus will continue for one additional week.

Hello everyone!

First off, the short version: the current Necroepilogos hiatus will extend for an additional week. There will be no Necroepilogos chapter on the 27th of February. Necroepilogos will return on the 6th of March!

And now the long(er?) version.

So, I am back from my ‘quest’ — the long-postponed task which I had to go take care of, which involved travelling rather far away. For the first time in over two weeks I am not accessing the internet from a bunch of laptop components taped to the side of a tree, and I am finally typing on a real keyboard again. I am back in my usual habitat, hooray!

I have good news and bad news.

The bad news you already know, it’s up there in the title of the post. And I’m really sorry that I’ve got to do this.

I really, really, really wanted to avoid more than two weeks of Necroepilogos hiatus, especially because that means I will only have published a single chapter in all of February. That sucks! February is usually a great time of year for me. I had hoped to do a bunch of work while I was away. I was planning to return with at least one Necroepilogos chapter drafted, if not mostly edited. But everything on my expedition was 10x more difficult and stressful than I predicted; writing was simply impossible under those conditions. I’ve now arrived home later than I wanted, with a bunch of post-trip clean-up to do, exhausted down to my bones, and also a little bit ill.

So, I’m going for another week of hiatus. I simply need to recover for a day or two. Squeezing out a chapter now would result in very sub par work. You have my apologies, I really wanted to avoid this, and I know it’s a little disappointing. But everything will be back to normal very soon, so please bear with me a little longer; Necroepilogos will return as normal on the 6th of March!

As for the good news — Katalepsis Book Two is still on schedule.

While actual drafting or editing was impossible on my little expedition into the heart of the woods, planning was abundantly easy. While I was unable to actually write, I have put the time to good use going over the notes and outlines for Book Two, making additional plans, and getting into the heads/prose style of as many of the planned POVs as I could. Book Two is still on track to start on the 15th of March for patrons, and on the 29th of March for public readers. This might still change; words are about to hit the page very shortly, and I can never know exactly what will happen until I turn the characters loose. But I’m confident it’s going to work, and right now I’m going to stick to the 15th of March as best I can.

And … that’s it! That’s all! I don’t know why I felt I should write this up as a big post, but I thought it would be best to let everybody know where things are at.
