5 Fun Party Pages =D
Wow. OKAY. So. A lot went on here... for this Holiday season 'single image' I had intended to draw you all. I set out to draw a little Polaroid for the Polaroid series; a cucky 'from our family to yours' sort of thing; like a silly Christmas card. But as I was grabbing reference material, the poses and ideas sort of... stopped inspiring me; they were poses troubles and it wasn't as easy as I'd hoped. So I sort of... just decided 'fuck it, I'll draw something for ME'. That's when I drew up the final image in this series: Nick, dressed sharply cleaning a creampie.
But my brain can't help itself; after I'd drawn that I was like... What was the lead-up? How did this happen... This was so easy to draw, I should draw Nick, getting texts, add to the story! Have him invited to join by Owen and Judy. Easy! Fun!
Once THAT was penciled in, I couldn't stop myself. "What if a nose snoop gets in the way... cock blocking Nick... I haven't ever drawn Clawhauser..."
Well, you can see the path of madness... This was a 5 pager - I got done in the little bit of time off I've taken, without any prior layouts, no script-before-art, and without all the extras and clean-up I usually add. I did clean up the pencils; That's what the linework in this is, and I think it turned out pretty smart if you don't mind the occasional chunky line or errant pixel or two.
After I'd drawn it all up, I realized I'd sort of broken one of my own Judy rules; that Judy would avoid mixing pleasure with work; she's so career-orientated, that I don't think she'd risk it. BUT I tried to write in in a way that this all feels impromptu and unplanned; maybe Owen just caught her in the right mood to bend a rule or two.
Anyway, let me know what you all think! I had SO SO SO much fun with this one. It's a really organic and letting myself follow the madness, kinda comic. Not my usual MO.
Finally; I'm as sick as a dog. So these last few time-off days before the end of the year, I'm just gonna spend in bed. Go figure, I take some time off and my body decides to catch a cold.
