Page 6 & Single Panels
Added 2024-08-21 20:25:34 +0000 UTCEDIT - Correction 1 - I've lightened up both panels a bit (It looked too dark on my tablet/phone VS my PC screen) I also added in a less fuzzy 1st-panel version of the main page (labeled correction 2) - I haven't decided what I like better yet.
Edit - Correction 3 - fixed a fresh bit of deleted background that I missed originally.

Meekly, I present to you, page 6.
This was way too much effort and time. Lessons learned? Maybe? I have 2 more on the monorail, before we can get to Owen's apartment, and no more massive backgrounds. Just, the interior or the monorail that's a little easier I think.
I really set out to prove to myself that I was capable of doing something GRAND, and I thought? I could keep momentum on it throughout. But a sheer amount of work like this has its drain, you slow as you go.
I'm 75% happy with this. I might have been staring at it too much to be able to tell the weeds from the trees.
In my head the top panel was going to be a bit brighter and sunnier; instead, it feels a little hazier than I'd hoped for; if I reduce that haze, the detail in the background makes it hard to find the characters; so this was the best happy-middle I could find.
The monorail was also a middle choice. I had a lot of background references from shows like Steven Universe, which uses blues and rich color values to give depth and darkness to their scenes. I really find it appealing (most of the last chapter had blue backgrounds!) But I also had screenshots from the Zootopia movie; where they use more traditional darker shades in the environments, with lighting on the characters to lift them from the scene. It's a more... serious tone? A more real one - and I don't know how I feel about it. I want the comic to float a bit between feeling real in the script and ever so cartoonish on the page.
IDK. I think... if anything that after 6 weeks? on one page, my brain is a bit melted to give you all a thoughtful deconstruction.
What I am proud of is that I made the effort, pushed through, and accomplished this page.

As ever I've been so eternally grateful you all allowed me the time to try this. Means so much to know you got my back =D I'm excited to get these too goobers into Owen's and finallllly draw some smut again =D

I love the darker mood inside the monorail that panel could be a poster or something, I love how busy and full of detail it is! I do agree that since you completed this channel you can allow yourself a couple of simpler backgrounds now XD even if I love how the big ones come out. What a bunch of cute characters you got there, I like that I recognized the otter. Amazing work, you out do yourself with every page, you should be really proud

2024-08-21 21:41:48 +0000 UTCI'm just in awe of every little detail and can see all the effort you're putting in. I've been staring at these, zooming in and out and I just am wow'd the entire time! I understand about the background;, I also love the Steven Universe/Adventure Time style backgrounds because you have the freedom to switch between the flowy bright pastels, dark intensity, and you don't get bogged down by adding so many small details that you have to add even more to all the characters to make them pop too. I know you didn't ask, but I'd say go with what you know you're gonna love 100% at the end! Again, this panel just has me admiring every single little detail and effort I can see. But I love and reread the older panels too. I'm just a fan lol π anyway, keep it up! π₯°
