The reason they all have their own control room is just because it's another reference to a classic Japanese TV show - Super Sentai Series. You might know it as the basis for the American adaptation called Power Rangers. I don't know if you've ever seen Power Rangers, but in that show every Ranger had their own mecha they could pilot, and when fighting bigger monsters they could combine their mechas into a giant super-mecha with each Ranger having their own set of controls. I don't think it's ever explicitly stated why each Ranger has a separate set of controls, but I assume each one controls a different subsystem, like movement and combat, ranged weapons, power and shields, and so on. In the Japanese Super Sentai version I think they just executed their moves in perfect sync though, like they shared their brainwaves or the power of homogenous society or some such, not really sure. I don't think the creators knew either, they just wanted to sell some toys lol

Not that she's done growing, but she absolutely went 1 to 100 with no training arc. She is a pretty soldier after all.
