My Hero 7x11 FULL REACTION!

... what the shit

My Hero 7x11 FULL REACTION!

Comments

Y'all very super analytical about that, picking up the reason why Bakugo always keeps a hand in his pocket. I wanna point out, even if this is old, but it was Shigaraki that punched a hole through his heart, taking advantage of Bakugo's moment he spent distracted, self reflecting. Bakugo's side effect was just his Explosion quirk doing the exact same thing as Deku's full cowling. Explosions from every pore in his skin, giving him hyper-specific and extremely fast movement.

ethan

Something nice in this episode too is that he starts calling him Izuku instead of Deku over and over, feels very last goodbyes

Panda

Ok I’m ready to this guy. I’m glad this happened. WAIT! let explain. If all of theses first years came out of this war Alice with just a year of training (not counting playing with their quarks as kids) it would really annoy me. Deaths like this are needed to remind us. Fictional or not. Theses people’s lives mattered. And I think choosing him was perfect choose. It makes sense for his arc end. He knew his assignment “stall for Deku to get here” and when Shigaroki was about to move forward he stepped up. It’s a good thing we fill this way. Seeing his body like that reminded me how a felt during the battle of Hogwarts for the time, and read the casualties I. Detail. That’s the level we’re at here. While there is one way to save him, Eri can rewind time on a person. Quark logic speaking if we could get her there fast enough maybe she could rewind him before the damage happened. But you be bring a five year old in to the battle. Plus I don’t think we hit that time window. Toddler Shigaroki is fighting back! Just like AFO’s quarks did, digging that. as a kid by the cell saga death in dragon ball ment nothing to me. Shutting up now

Shota Tsunamura

And then the writer copped out

Douglas Kelley

“Take care of the others” is quite literally the movie cliche that characters say when they understand that they might not live through the ordeal they’re about to put themselves through. I think it was as simple as that. Not a sacrifice, per se, just an understanding.

The Great Santini

Well… to each their own.

The Great Santini

This had social media RAGING

Aaron Mitchell

Carlie's villain name is top tier

Terminus Est

The wild part is this isn't even the most emotional episode this season.

SidTheAstroSloth

Amazing damn near perfect reaction. Glad I finally got time to see it! Bakugo 💔 I was just like Carlie. The silence is understandable lol

IQLou

The "side effect" of the quirk was actually a positive the way I understand it, as it allowed him to use it all over his body then. I don't think that was killing him. I do think once he said 'take care of the others' he was ready to go down swinging tho. so many tears this episode. i was right there with Carlie.

Kolton Nay

💔💔💔 I was absolutely devastated the first time I saw this episode, and a whole year later it still hurts. 🥺 As soon as the OST “The Spirit To Succeed” starts playing I get all teary eyed and then to end it with “You have no idea how much I wanted your autograph.” 😭 What are you doing to me, MHA?!

Kiribukai

This ep causes me literal pain every time I watch it. Couldn't stop the tears even on rewatch T.T Btw, I love Carlie's villain name

angelalala

Horikoshi confirmed the movies are canon.

Imani Brooks

dawg the fact that bakugo and endeavor see deku as ahead of them is crazyyyyyyy lol deku >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Jay rellim

I swear, no one can tell me differently… but this episode to me confirms the lasting impact of Bakugo temporarily wielding OFA in Heroes Rising. Not only does the sparkle in his eyes resemble his eyes in the movie when using OFA, but also… how else could he be communicating with the vestige of All Might in this moment, unless it was inside of him?

Tyler Owens

Don't mind me, just bawling my eyes out here along with Carlie. This episode man, fuck this episode... My two cents, Bakugo was not intending to sacrifice himself nor was he thinking about fighting to his death per se. When you see him still looking at Shigaraki and mumbling things like "right...feint..." etc that's him still trying to study Shigaraki's moves and thinking up ways on how to defeat him, despite already being 'defeated' by him once (what with his arm broken). I also think he instinctively knew that the sweat that he'd been storing up in his arms would look for other outlets on his body, thus triggering explosions from all over his body and hence him not being able to control them well. Him asking Jeanist to take care of the others was because he likely knew he won't be able to regulate his explosions properly this time, so he didn't want anyone else to get caught up in it. This is a throwback to Kaminari saying that Bakugo, despite his rambunctious fighting technique, pays close attention to his surroundings so as to keep the damage from his explosions minimal. Here however, he couldn't do it. It's similar to when Deku lost control of Blackwhip the first time it appeared. Bakugo here was also feeling intense pain all over his body because for the first time he was using his quirk throughout his entire body, not just his hands. Similar to Deku. That's why he remembered Deku and realized he'd been fighting in this painful state this whole time. Him saying "I have to win right, Izuku?" is also a callback to when he and Deku battled All Might, and Deku was pissed at him for saying he'd rather lose than fight together. In Deku's eyes, Bakugo would never fight to lose. So Bakugo wasn't fighting to die, he was fighting to win. But he couldn't because Shigaraki is just that powerful. Also, 17:50 is the first time in this entire series that we see Bakugo smiling that smile and speaking in that soft tone, and it's when he's on the verge of death and talking about his childhood wish of wanting to get All Might's sign on his hero card. Yeah, fuck this episode... TT My heart broke even more seeing Carlie cry. Hope you both are ok :'< Can't wait for next week!

Meg

so sad..

지원

For real lol. I love how Shigaraki keeps trying to explain to the heroes like, "Guys... do you remember how sick All Might was at his peak? Yes? Do you think you could have beaten him? Why don't you understand this? All Might was fucking sick!"

The Great Santini

His reaction will destroy me 💔

Carlie & Ange

Sorry, I didn’t mean it. I was just emotional ❤️

Carlie & Ange

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope this didn’t dampen the mood too much haha. That timing is pretty awful, but I hope you have the best day 🎉🎂🥳

Carlie & Ange

I hope he comes Bak-ugo

Carlie & Ange

We feel so betrayed 😂

Carlie & Ange

Bit of humour to lighten the mood 🙃

Carlie & Ange

GET ME THE MANAGER

Carlie & Ange

😭😭😭

Carlie & Ange

Never listening to you lot again 😤

Carlie & Ange

That’s not very nice 😒

Carlie & Ange

Fun fact… this is the 5th highest rated MHA episode of them all. There is another episode coming in Season 7 that’s actually 3rd after All Might vs AFO in Season 3 and the Season 4 finale

lord aang

Showing his heart beating and then a moment later the blow, and then Jeanist flinching when he feels no heartbeat, ouchhhhhhh

Patrick Wotton

“This show is starting to take years of my life” is insanely relatable

Leon

hope you guys are ready for peak after peak episodes the rest of the season.

Xaniss

"You're no goldfish poop", "all might would sign his grave", "they could just handle his death like midnight" 🤣 carlie 🤣

Hani

My pain academia 💔

Hani

Kinda crazy how this show just gets better and better. When I first saw Bakugo's lifeless body I was shocked, then with his All Might card crumpled next to him. Devastating. Its just so sad and dark. And I love seeing your reactions to all of it!! Also, never apologize for DBZ references! 😂

Rob V.

You guys started watching this (or uploaded S1E1) July 14th 2024. This episode came out July 20th 2024. I have been waiting that full year for you to see this, so fresh was it when you started. Wow, what a journey lads. Love this shit so much.

Josh McCann

The silence was deafening..

wicecakes

First was the calm explanation of his quirk. Second was how everything was described in the past tense. And the bleeding on the card was just diabolical.

Nepeta

Your silence for the second half of the episode spoke volumes!! I'm right there with Carlie, this episode makes me ball EVERY. TIME. And I had the same reaction as Ange did with Dragonball when I first read this chapter in the manga. I was so upset/mad for like the next month and a half. This really is the culmination of Bakugou's character. There's so many good moments in that last part but him saying "Can I still catch up to you Izuku?" absolutely breaks me because this entire time he's been telling Deku he better catch up/keep up with him and he finally understands what Deku's been going through the entire series. He realizes that Deku's been fighting through it despite the pain and says "you already went through this a long time ago" understanding that Deku has really surpassed him in some ways long before this moment😭 A few other comments cleared up that it wasn't his quirk that stopped his heart as much as the animation made it look like that but Shigaraki/AFO pierced his heart and tore open his chest. In regards to his quirk, what Bakugou experienced was a quirk awakening which is basically an evolution of how the quirk manifests/works (Shigaraki in season 5 realizing he didn't need to use all 5 fingers for his quirk to work) which is usually brought about by extreme circumstances or near-death experiences. Bakugou pushed himself so hard that his quirk evolved to the nitroglycerin not only coming out of his hands but his whole body which gave him a major boost in speed. Personally, I think his "Take care of the others" line is less about self sacrifice and more about knowing that someone has to stop Shigaraki and the others aren't able to keep up with Shigaraki. With all of their strongest attacks, nothing has worked. Bakugou has always wanted to be a hero and for him that means winning. Until Deku gets there it is his responsibility as a hero to do everything he can to keep Shigaraki at bay which is why he says "we've gotta win...right Izuku?" calling back to their save people to win, win to save people line from previous seasons. He feels he HAS to win in order to save everyone else around him who can't do anything to stop Shigaraki at this point. So much pressure for 16 years old. As much as it hurts to watch (especially because Bakugou is my favourite character) this is one of my top 3 episodes of the entire series. As heartbreaking and gut wrenching as it is everyone involved did a phenomenal job from the voice acting, the animation, the direction, the sound design.

Jamie

The fandom blew up when this happened in the manga, and with how Bones adapted this episode so beautifully it once again blew up the anime community when it was released

V STAN

While I didn't expect you to notice during this first watch but still hoped to see... you guys didn't end up paying attention to the guy in Shigaraki's flashback that he was strangling, did you? I get it, there was so much other stuff going on and the shock at the end as well, oof. Just gonna point it out now lol. Does he seem familiar? And even if not, he's definitely significant just because Shigaraki was comparing that guy and Bakugo as being the same type of person or something 🤔

Phoenix

Hear me out... It only gets better

Addstir

😭😭😭 Poor kids, sent to war! MHA is portraying something dark! I cried more than half the season! Great writing!

Eestiny

When this happened in the manga, I actually stopped reading it. Then the anime came out and it wasn't until season 7 was over that I rewatched the entire series, fell for Bakugou all over again, and cried my eyes out watching the anime. I then had no other choice but to finish it, then pick up the manga from where I'd left off. And no matter how many times I watch people react to this very scene, I have rivers falling down my cheeks.

Rayanh LaNansha

So, in the manga it was shown more clearly, but AFOraki basically pierced Bakugo's chest and his heart, which is what killed him. A lot of people were confused at first because of the leaks of the chapter back then. Some thought his chest got blown open (which it did), some thought his quirk blew his heart up because of the side effect of his "new" move (the leaked version had a really bad translation), and some thought AFO just punched right through him. Bakugo is without a doubt one of the best-written (non-main) characters in any manga or anime I’ve seen. His redemption is truly amazing. Same goes for Endeavor. His backstory reveal makes a lot of sense, considering his constant drive for power throughout the whole show. Seeing your dad get crushed must have really traumatized him — obviously, that doesn’t excuse how he treated his family. Personally, my top 3 favorite character stories in the show are: Endeavor (and the family story) Bakugo Shigaraki

Niqow

Carlie: “he’s having his moment” Yes Carlie, He Is. 😭 And the way Ange raged Cut the cameras 😭😭 Tragic but beautifully well done episode 🤧🤧

Anthony Julian

Also the trauma and pain Monoma & Aizawa have to endure, being forced to watch that right in their faces and not being able to do anything. Aizawa knew what Shigaraki was after, begging for them to save and protect Bakugo. You can only imagine the pain Aizawa feels as his teacher and protector. 😭😭

Anthony Julian

My heart 😭 it’s always so emotional watching this episode 😢 And Kudos to you Ange, recognizing how he keeps his hands in his pockets all times 😭 because he was always waiting for the right moment and courage to apologize to All Might & ask for his autograph 😭😭😭. My heart broke watching this, especially being my favorite character 😢

Anthony Julian

There will be other opportunities to get him this season

lord aang

I really thought this would be the episode to get you Ange! Was waiting for those tears. Peak peak episode. When Bakugo’s voice becomes so much more calm and tame in the all might monologue. That took me out. You never hear him like that

James Kearney

"Hey Izuku, can I still catch up to you?" might be the best line in the entire series

Miguel

Brilliant writing from Horikoshi.

Alexandre LE

If and when Deku gets there. He is gonna absolutely crash out

PhaedrusRumple

Rewatching this episode with y'all brought the tears back... Amazing episode. The music, the art; so great.

QuirklessEsty

And all the memes before being like “Bakugo died in this chapter”, only for him to actually die

Danny C

“Yeah, I’m gunna vomit” best way to sum up this episode. BEAUTIFUL 10/10 episode, but it just makes you sick, cause in a show about high schoolers, especially this one, you never really expect a student to die. Definitely was in the same boat as Ange. Couldn’t say a word the entire second half.

Danny C

Saddest moment in MHA for me... I still remember how shocked I was.... I was quiet for few minutes after the episode just to digest... Guys, as per the explanation we received from the narrator, his death was NOT a side effect of his quirk. Here is how it went: Bakugo's quirk is to use the sweat coming out of HIS HANDS as explosive. Up until now, we never saw him use the sweat of his feet, knees, armpits...etc. as explosives. He was always using his hands even when he wanted to push himself mid air. However, his new move (Cluster) which he used while giving the nice speech to Shigaraki, gave a lot of load on him so this explosive sweat kept leaking out of all other places in his body, but he himself was not exploding, it's just the sweat that's coming out from everywhere, hence the surrounding sparkles were there. This made him super fast as if he's being pushed by his explosions all the time, that's why his body was hurting. The heart scene was only shown when Shigaraki was about to hit him... We also saw him afterwards, he was not exploded or anything... I think he said "Take care of the others" because he felt that he's going for a very dangerous battle which he felt will be his last...

Aizensalami

The OST never gets enough praise. It so good!!

PhaedrusRumple

Lol studdents recording video the are not stupid . The are douying the best of his part equal than other's

지원 우

One of the best episodes of the series

E

The way I screamed out loud when I read this manga chapter. Especiallly when he’s my favorite character

Aaron Ly

I’ve been waiting for this!!!!

Aaron Ly

They really nailed this ep. Reminds me of early my hero with the direction. They actually changed the director from season 6 and I thought it was a great choice this season has been so good and this episode is iconic

Synnel

That moment when you see the All Might vestige standing in front of Bakugo... man, I had a hard time keeping it together during that.

Trav

Twitter was going CRAZY, people were so upset and rightfully so LMAO

Itzel

I remember how this blew up on Twitter when the chapter came out in the manga, when I tell you I was so upset ....😭

Itzel

great way to spend my birthday is to rewatch one of my fave characters die 🤣 the discussion was so funny with Ange just trying to go thru the events of the ep while Carlie stares off and rethinks her life choices cuz same! this ep never fails to have me in tears bakugo's journey is truly a sight to see.. with his holier than thou attitude and aggression at the start its often easy to forget how he's just as much as big as a nerd as deku so the scene with him just wanting All might's autograph was so bittersweet.. and then the realization that he was always holding on to the card incase he can bring it up again... he's just a kid 😭 just pain all around but such a great episode💘 as always... cant wait for the next epssss❤️

Void The Rose

Yeah this episode is just so well done. Extremely sad but damn.

Dune

Shoutout to my boy Bakugone.

Amir Shipp

Man I remember reading and watching this chapter for the first time, it was trending on twitter and everything. Truly the best if not one of the best moments of mha.

Otchoe

Rewatching the scene where it shows his heart, I think you can see the light/impact coming from the outside, so I believe the intent there is that Shigaraki crushed/pierced his heart and the show was just sparing you the gory details. I don't *think* there's meant to be side effects from the new way he was using his quirk aside from the pain. And yes, all the people insisting 7x7 and 7x8 absolutely had to be watched together were definitely setting you up to end on this lol.

Trav

Even on my third rewatch, i still couldn't hold back my tears.

HN Tamim

Bakugo is the best character ever

Tyler Owens

"do you reckon all might's gonna sign his grave?" CARLIE PLEASE 🤣

Void The Rose

iiuc, i don’t think bakugo’s quirk was killing him at all, it’s basically his version of full cowling after hitting his peak so he’s def in pain for stretching past his limits . shigaraki was just faster somehow and hit him (or they traded blows idk)

Jay rellim

AND CARLIE LOOKS SO DISTRAUGHT GIVE HER A HUGGGG

Hamooddd

One of if not the most evil ending to an episode 💔💥

Night Sterling

I cried every time i rewatched this episode. I need october to come quicker for this last season
