All Too Well MOVIE Reaction

Welp .... this is a big one. I actually did some RESEARCH on this one! I know it's about Jakey G and Taylor Swift's relationship from a few years back. Now, fair warning ... my reaction might not be the same as other people's. I was a little worried about uploading this one. We're dealing with some pretty intense feelings and relationships, so please remember that when issuing me an a@& kicking in the comments.

PS: Patrons, I actually listened a little to the Long Pond Studio version of All Too Well and really like the tracking there better than the original (myself). If you'd like a separate reaction to that too, just let me know below.

All Too Well MOVIE Reaction

I think you are correct. It isn't that she isn't over him it's that he hurt her in such a visceral way that it traumatized her and she can still be mad at that. I'm not saying Jake is a bad guy sometimes people are just bad to each other and for each other. But that age gap does give him a power dynamic over her that could cause some serious trauma for her. And I think that is the emotion you are hearing in her delivery. I love your reactions. Thank you so much for your content. :)

I loved your reaction! And your take on the fight scene. I think as huge Taylor swift fans, myself included, it’s sometimes hard to see where the opposite party is coming from because she does such a good job of describing how she feels and putting you in her shoes. But what you said is completely true! When you are younger, a slight like that would have killed me. But as I’m approaching 30, I look at it differently. But what I think you understood and she was trying to convey is that he couldn’t even acknowledge her feelings, even if he didn’t agree with them. I heard this song back when it came out on the original Red album and I was a 20 year old college student and it hit like a freight train. This new version hits me in a different way now. You can tell she was very angry when she wrote it, and it’s kinda a meandering song and goes back and forth with emotion but it reminds me of what it feels like to be broken up with. One thing I think I see now, which I didn’t see in the original version, was just how desperate she almost is that he acknowledge it some way that he “felt it”, “remembered it” like she did. And that is such a relatable thing. She repeats it even more in this version and I think that’s probably one of the most insecure feelings a person can have (as many of us have experienced that feeling). I honestly try to take the Taylor/Jake thing out of it now, because I assume (could be wrong) that she looks at this song differently than when she originally wrote/released it as well. To me it’s just a very relatable break-up, but her lyrical storytelling is what shines through. She’s just so good at taking you to a place where you are reminded of something in your life, and that just makes it more impactful.
