Parasyte Eps 12-13 FULL REACTIONS!

That's why a lot of people were miffed that they modernized the story, since it backfired on some of the credulity of the plot. Don't really get why production companies always feel stories that are set in an older time period (it's only the 90s) are less relevant to viewers...(they did the same thing with Banana Fish -.-)

I think it’s important to mention because this is an older story that’s been updated to fit modern times, news travels differently in our era vs back then. They wouldn’t have had access to essentially real time news everywhere like we do today and I imagine wouldn’t be nearly as aware of how prevalent any of these parasite related crimes are, etc.

Who would react to that? It's not a trailer, it's just a promotion. It has nothing new in it, just scenes from the last episode of season 4.

I mostly agree with you, except Shinichi explained it to her and she didn't like that explanation. She was still clearly holding on to what she believed/perceived her abilities to be. I always thought she just had mental problems because all the clues are right in front of her and she just doesn't look at them lol.

Kana seems like a bit of a basket case when you just watch her in the show, but if you try to empathize with her and think about her experiences from her perspective, she starts to make more sense. She's still obviously not in the right mindset and I don't agree with her actions, but I can at least understand how she got there. If you experience something supernatural, what's stopping something more comprehensible like "fate" or "destiny" from being true too? Keep in mind, to the viewers this is an anime and anything goes. But imagine experiencing all of this yourself in the real world with your current understanding of real life? Imagine: You're young and you go through life not caring about much. Things seem to meet your expectations and nothing really interests you. This random person who has no power tries to stand up for someone else and naturally gets beat up for it. Expected, right? Still nothing interesting. Then this same person who just got beat up, whom you believe to be weak, intimidates you when you simply look into their eyes. Shortly after this first encounter, the same person is exuding a new confidence and is beating everyone else with ease. They're suddenly no longer weak, and they're always saying cryptic, edgy, main character type of shit that keeps you confused and intrigued. Not to mention you get a weird feeling like a faint radar sometimes, and you make the realization that it specifically happens whenever you're about to run into this person. You conclude that you must be able to sense when they're around you (due to it happening multiple times by this point). Now you start thinking about them all the time, because well, why is this happening? Nobody else in the real world talks about things like this, and it's never happened to you before either. Why wouldn't you be thinking about it? You start to wonder "What if I can sense them, and only them? Does that mean we're linked? Do we share a destiny?" Then you have these weird recurring dreams you can't control about them, which naturally makes you feel like maybe you're on the right track with your thoughts. Now you start *wanting* your assumptions to be correct, because you're young and wouldn't it be nice to have a destiny with someone whose meant for you? Your observations keep seeming to back it up, and it also sounds ideal, so why not believe it? Now, when you have moments here and there that seem like they might help to disprove that theory and take all of it away from you, you offer yourself some excuses as to why they don't disprove it. You reassure yourself that you're still right when you have any doubts so you don't have to forfeit your idealistic fantasy. (Even Shinichi's dad had moments where he rejected logic, rationality, and intuition because he didn't want to admit to losing what he loves, even though he knew it was gone). I'm not saying Kana ever really did anything right in this story, but I understand how she got to where she did. She's just a kid who came to the conclusion that her unprecedented and unique sense was a sign of her finding her soul mate, and became consumed by that false notion until it eventually assured her own doom. Though what happened to her was in large part due to her own delusions, I don't think she's just some crazy person, and I think it's really tragic that what she interpreted as a blessing/gift of love ended up resulting in her death.

I feel so bad for shinichi he warned kana so many times and when she dies he still blames himself

-I saw someone once bring up the fact that Kana is a foil to Murano. While Murano loves Shinichi for the part of him that's human, Kana falls in love with Shinichi due to the part of him that's a Parasyte. I won't make any connections with the overall story since you haven't finished it yet, but it's definitely interesting to think about. Along those lines, his mother (like Murano) also loved him for his humanity, so now someone close to him who loved his human side and someone close to him who loved his Parasyte side have both died because of Parasytes, yet Shinichi feels somewhat responsible for both. -Migi doesn't really lie or mince words, which makes a lot of the things it says sound quite cold. However, this ironically also allows for *some* dialogue to be extra comforting, because you feel like you can truly accept it since you know it wasn't biased or sugar-coated. When Migi tells Shinichi that Kana's death was only a matter of time, it's not strictly trying to comfort Shinichi–it's being logical and honest. Kind of like getting a compliment from a stranger as opposed to one from your dad. I think that makes it easier for Shinichi to accept less severe personal blame (although he's obviously still blaming himself). Unfortunately, Kana's obsession with Shinichi was so severe that it was *always* going to get her killed. She had a self-fulfilling prophecy mindset. Any time she might be saved her delusions would be justified or proven correct in her mind, while all everything that seemed to go against that idea would be avoided or explained away, with the cycle continuing until she'd one day be finally, indisputably, and fatally proven wrong. -I found myself really liking Kana more and more (despite liking Murano for Shinichi), and I felt like she had so much potential in the story that her end felt so abrupt and anti-climactic. I think a lot of viewers had similarly dissatisfied feelings with this conclusion for her. Upon reflection though, I realize her character is intended to help the viewers learn more about the other characters: how they're growing, what they're going through, how they view things, etc. (I hope that made sense)? It's tragic to realize such a unique character was essentially a literary device for understanding the other characters, but looking at it from that perspective still helped me appreciate the show more than I did when I first watched this episode. RIP Kana </3

She is a teenager in love, people seem to forget how stupid humans get at that age.

Jay

everybody gangsta until they hear "migi handle defence"

Cayseron

I always forget despite how absurd Kana’s actions get, how sad this episode still ends up being… and that shot with Shinichi holding Migi back is so good. COMPLETELY UNRELATED - I didn’t know where else to put this but an announcement was made and there’s going to be more Haikyuu anime than previously announced! On top of the movie we already knew about there’s now gonna be additional anime content (and I hope it’s literally anime!) covering more manga material that wasn’t originally slated to be covered by the second movie. I’m so happy and know you guys will be too!

This show has so many legendary scenes! The baby one reminds me of queen never cry meme lolol

makimama

I feel sorry for Kana, but ultimately her downfall was that she romatasized her ability to 'detect parasites' to a special connection with Shinichi. But that's just how irrational human emotions are...

DemoniCross

I love kana

지원

There is a quite interesting detail in this episode, that when all the Parasytes were sitting in the same room for a meeting, none of them were looking at each other.

Where is my demon slayer infinity castle trailer reaction

Kana really was a prime example of a side character with main character syndrome.
