2025-01-05 02:48:44 +0000 UTCCarlie touches on an important point: there is fanfic of Korra's state of mind in her current state because it's natural for someone who defines themselves by their physical prowess and power as Korra has always done to have some dark thoughts about letting someone else continue the Avatar cycle because an Avatar that can't fight or help people is not much use to the world. Not saying that's right either but you can see how that mindset would happen very easily

Sheltered all her life, her entire identity revolved around being the avatar. She grew up thinking being the Avatar just required being physically strong and kicking ass. Then she gets thrust into a world she doesn't understand, faced with complex situations she's not prepared for, and it triggers this never ending fear in her that she isn't good enough to be the Avatar. Not in the way the world needs. And now she's in a wheelchair, feeling mentally and physically broken, being told the world doesn't need her. I cry every time I watch it :(

2025-01-04 18:14:52 +0000 UTCThe metal poison was just metal, the red lotus member who administered it even metalbent it into Korra. It was the chains and cuffs that were platinum, which is not able to be metalbent.
