Quick glossary of UK police positions: DC - Detective Constable, the first tier (Steve and Kate) DS - Detective Sergeant, one level up from DC DI - Detective Inspector (Nige, the guy with the cane, who voiced Bob The Builder) DCI - Detective Chief Inspector (Gates) I don't remember the position for the Irish guy leading Anti-Corruption but he's higher than anybody listed above.
