As far as accuracy in the movie its based on the graphic novel by Derf Beckderf who knew Dahmer in High School with some scenes put together from various interviews with Dahmer after he was arrested with the only scenes seemingly made up are when he and the bully are in the woods with the gun (he actually stopped hanging out with Fig after he purposely hit a dog with his car which freaked out Dahmer) and the scene with the interview about former homecoming queens. When asked why he didn't say anything to anybody in power "we were just kids! The real question is where were the damn adults?"
