The Big One i've been working on: "Foxhood"!

i've teased this last year and have been working on it on and off since then, but i think i've settled on working on this as my current major project, with the plans to complete and finish a free publicly playable demo of the first area within the year! and that's my baby "Foxhood"!

some of you may recognize this either from being around a long time or just looking at my public playlists on youtube, but this used to be known as "Kitsunefudo" and had a ton of different iterations, being something i've worked on since i was 12! i stopped working on it in 2018, and finally got a true second wind in late 2023 when i threw together a "proof of concept" of a new iteration, which is what i'm working on now and am determined to stick to!

it's a silly RPG platformer heavily inspired by Cave Story, Pizza Tower, and the MOTHER series, and i'm very happy with how it's been turning out! everything you see in the video above is extremely temporary and subject to change, the level graphics especially being something that will be updated for sure before the demo's completed since i'm just blocking stuff out currently. What you see is (almost) all of what's been made so far, save for the intro and some enemies that are implemented but yet to appear!

making this latest iteration of the game has been very satisfying, because it's like the ultimate version of everything i wanted to do with it growing up but just didn't have the capacity to execute on, given that i was a young teen trying their darndest to program a video game with what little i knew in gamemaker studio LOL. now at this point in my life, i have many years of experience with game development and animation under my belt, including the ability and discipline to actually finish a video game, so i'm excited to see how this project develops!
