this video itself isnt all that secret (its in my public unlisted playlist) but here i can offer a bit of explanation!
i recently downloaded adobe premiere just to toy around with and see if theres anything interesting i would be able to do that could be handy/interesting to use in an animation, but also to see if i could achieve this effect...
more specifically, for a while ive had an idea for a short animation of "Switzerland" for a while now where at this section of the song i wanted there to be repeated thick outlines each being a different color of the rainbow expanding infinitely around the character, constantly shifting in hue.
i wasnt able to achieve this effect exactly how i planned to, as you can see in the video where its more like a repeated scaling of the image where you can see the thickness of the lines varies a lot, and gets blurrier as the scale increases, but it definitely serves as a proof of concept!
this isnt going to be the next animation (maybe id do it some time this summer though?) but i thought itd be interesting to share nonetheless!
oh yeah and, the animation used is just a trace of a gif of "Louie" dancing from a sega genesis bomberman game, with the help of @smorbee on twitter who looked through the sprites to see what they looked like without Bomberman riding on top....
