The Book of Inner Alchemy (Patron)
Added 2021-05-21 09:04:26 +0000 UTCSomeone has managed to steal from the great library of Candlekeep. The grandmaster sages will not allow this to go unpunished. The integrity of the library must be kept intact. To this extent, they have put out an 8000 gold piece reward for the return of the stolen pages, by any means necessary.
This is a straightforward action adventure. There's not much to say about it, other than two minor things.
The story starts with the players being delivered the vandalized book. Instead just have it be that there is a reward posted that they are here to try to collect. It doesn't make sense that they would be given the book right after an attack, with multiple acolytes killed, for that book.
The second is even more minor. When the party gets to the part with Jade Empress, she yells out that the party is here to steal the secrets of Master Bak Mei. Unless your party has revealed that, it is odd that she would know and say that. Instead, you may just want her to say that we are under attack.
Other than that, just be careful that even though these were inspired by old kung fu movies that you don't end up accidentally relying on many of the racist tropes and stereotypes that were in many dubbed versions of those movies as well as the American made ones from that time. When in doubt, don't try try to do any funny accents or delayed dub style speech.
