After a successful try-out with our Game of the Year challenges in December, we are very excited to announce the full release of our challenge system today! We have launched with an array of different challenges for you to tackle, and will be adding more regularly!

Challenge Types

Featured challenges are themed and try to motivate you to discover and play new games within the event window, with new themes & games every month or two
Game series challenges are collections of games that you need to conquer
New release challenges ask you to beat anticipated new games within 3 months after release

Rewards

Aside from the progress you’ll make on your backlog we had to throw in some rewards for your hard work. Depending on the challenge, you can earn one or more of the following:

Titles: Show off your love for your favourite franchise with cool titles
Badges: Collect unique badges to satisfy that inner completionist
Profile Themes: Unlock new themes to customize your profile
Challenge Points: Compete with friends to collect the most challenge points

Featured Challenge: February

Our first featured challenge is called “Genesis does what Nintendon’t” and focuses on a collection of Genesis titles for you to experience. Why? Well, stats showed that these are the games that are sitting on IB’s collective backlog the most. So we challenge you to dust off your old Sega, start up the bundles ported to modern platforms, make use of your Nintendo Switch Online subscription or get acquainted with Retro Achievements this month!
