Early versions of the development included Zelda’s winter clothing, originally designed for the Mount Lanayru expedition scenes. The look was meant to express purity, renewal, and divine resilience, mirroring Zelda’s emotional awakening at that point in the story.
The outfit consisted of a white wool coat trimmed with ivory fur, light gray fitted trousers, and fur-lined leather boots. A tan expedition belt and subtle brass details suggested practicality and royal craftsmanship. The design was meant to balance travel-ready realism with ceremonial elegance — “a princess prepared for pilgrimage,” as one concept artist noted.
Developers ultimately excluded the outfit from the vanilla game, reintroducing it later, to maintain visual harmony with other Champion-era costumes. However, it remains a fan favorite, and we at Studio Shigeki have faithfully reinterpreted the outfit and added it to the game, allowing players to experience this design in motion like never before!
