Author's Note: Gave up on Ko-Fi
Added 2024-09-20 07:27:32 +0000 UTCHeyo, some of you might remember me mentioning in the past that I was going to get a Ko-Fi set up. Well, I tried. It was infuriating to post my chapters there. I got D'sP and like, half of NR up and was posting the weekly D'sP chapters there for a while now. It took so much more time.
I was trying it for two reasons. The practical, that of having an alternate income stream aside from Patreon. And also because I know not everyone wants to use Patreon and so it would be an alternate solution. Sadly Ko-Fi is did not work for me.
I really just need to get a proper site at some point. I would have to deal with more of the taxes that Patreon handles, but then again, it is the same with Ko-Fi, so if that had fully launched I would have had to anyway.
Edit: And by giving up, I mean I will no longer have chapters there. It will remain open for anyone that wants to donate through it.

That does sound interesting. However, there are also features on one that don't work on the other. For instance, polls are quite limited in how many characters you can post which made the last couple months prompt poll difficult.

2024-09-20 20:29:28 +0000 UTCHave you looked into an intermediary application that posts to sites like patreon and kofi so that you are only editing once? I haven't used it, but I've heard good things about postybirb. That might help.

2024-09-20 12:05:47 +0000 UTCAh, I guess I should edit my post. That is the plan. It is just that I will no longer have chapters over there and similar to my paypal, it will be purely for donations. I however won't be changing anything for another couple days because there is one person who found it and was subscribed till I think today? The reason I got the D'sP up early was because I wanted to make sure they had all the chances to read todays chapter.

2024-09-20 08:34:19 +0000 UTCCould always just keep the kofi around, without the chapters, for any who want to leave single donations instead of subscribing. Also I know some creators have left Patreon for SubscribeStar, though I don't know how it's worked out for them myself.
