[Closed] Collecting Short Story Prompts for Jan 2022
Added 2021-12-28 06:13:21 +0000 UTCA little late for this one but the short story for Dec took a bit more time than expected (holidays and what not). Anyway, Once again I'm here to ask all of you for short story prompts! I'll take the more popular ones (or that I just like) in the comments and make a poll at the start of the month. The winner will be made into a short story of a few thousand words.
Not many rules on what you can suggest at the moment. That will mostly be figured out as we go. Though there are two prompts I won't do that will be below. Besides that, the short story will come out before the end of the next month.
Prompts I'm currently not doing:
- NSFW (Patreon would probably get testy about it)
- Anything directly related to my current stories (I'm not against it but I want to try writing new things to stretch my skills a bit)
Comments
No, its fine. I was complaining about how no one else suggested anything. Last month I had like five or so suggestions to pull from.

How about these ideas, crafter who babysits for ego weapons or the infirm senior weapons. Mage with uncontrollable smell powers that change with emotions. Turtle monster that grows into a new world.

2022-01-01 07:08:39 +0000 UTCYou wake up to blackness and see a computer bios prompt for booting up. Vision comes in and you see a ruined cityscape. Everything is in high contrast, very bright light and absolute dark shadows, you look up and see a rift running through the sky through which you see space. A file loads and you get some past memories. You find out that you are a shard of an AI that was at war with a virus, to save yourself you ending up compressing yourself and put yourself into a nanobot swarm repair bot. You also learn from that rift in the sky that you are in a humongous bio dome that is a small piece, one of billions of a dyson sphere. The shadows and light thing is because the atmosphere was sucked out of that crack in the dome going to space. You as a repair bot need to start repairing the bio dome to get utility services back online and open the links to the other biodomes next to you. The long story being you need to figure out what caused that virus attack, why is everything so ruined like a war occurred, more importantly what happened to the other pieces of you that you had to leave behind to save your core, and what happened to all of the other inhabitants of the sphere.
