Stream 5 Recap

Thing We Did:

• Got our computer hacked by a puppet

• Visited the computer store Aparat to get our computer fixed, and discovered that Aparat is in debt and close to bankruptcy. There’s also a weird letter on the back of the picture of Elka and her deceased mother that says “I know it wasn’t an accident”. Did someone murder her mother? Who wrote that note?

• Saw a puppet shadow man who left us a letter outside Aparat telling us to leave Prague! Who was the shadow dude? We were with Elka at the time so it can’t be her, and her grandpa seems too old to have run across the street like that (unless he & Elka rigged something up using one of his contraptions?). Could it have been Radek? Oskar? Adela? Patricie? Someone else?

• Elka apparently hand crafted a taser ring from bits and pieces she acquired from her grandpa’s repair shop - low-key iconic.

• Learned that Adela took her priceless family heirloom to the antique/repair store connected to Aparat, but she won’t admit why she took it there. She also won’t tell us whether or not she made a police report or whether or not she has an insurance policy on the gems…sketch AF considering she hired us to look into the alleged theft of the jewels in the first place…

• Learned that Radek is part of a long line of…thieves (?) and his last name literally means that he’s hiding a secret (??) He also has a random anonymous donation to the puppet theater in his ledger that seems suspicious. Who would give that large or a donation to a puppet theater? He also lied about the number of puppets he has…what’s he trying to cover up?

• Unlocked Vladena’s safe using math that made no sense, but whatever. Vladena told us that multiple jewels and artifacts have gone missing under Oskar’s watch over the course of his career. She gave us her original appraisal sheet for Adela’s jewels.

• Talked to Oskar who was evasive about the gem thefts and his past. He also ran away with the cylinder that we opened with the jewels inside…did he steal them or take them to get catalogued by the museum like he says? He said he’s not allowed to examine or appraise any artifacts in the museum, all that has to be done by the descendants of the family with the museum contract. He revealed that Vladena comes from a family of alchemists which is pretty badass, but he also said she’s pissed that she’s not allowed to examine any of the jewels in the museum.

• Learned that Patricie’s family has been running the coffee shop for generations. She revealed that she’d rather travel the world / change careers to be a writer, but feels she can’t leave. Her business is also not doing well. Did she steal the gems in order to fund a career change?

• Still haven’t been able to make contact with the priest or his secretary in his office.

Things left to do:

• Explore the priest’s office better. I’m pretty sure we missed stuff because I was speed running due to hunger.

• Compare Vladena’s jewelry appraisal to the DEGAS entries the Hardy Boys got for us (with the help of CIA agent/possible X-games participant Zane)

• Confront the puppeteer Radek more, ask him (and/or others) about the “Rezidente” he’s been writing his new puppet play about, also ask him who the anonymous donor was.

• Find out more about Vladena’s family and her jewelry shop, Zlaty Custom Jewelry. Is she bitter that her family used to be able to appraise the jewels but can't anymore?

• Talk to Elka’s grandpa about whether or not he knows that Aparat is approaching bankruptcy.

• Figure out how to get to the underground tunnels we’ve been hearing so much about, possibly by using that key with the red jewel we’ve had since the beginning of this whole saga.

• RECOVER ADELA’S NECKLACE!! This is the job we were hired to do!
