With the release of v0.2 still fresh, less than a week ago, I can already say that measuring by what few analytics-tools I have available, this update has managed to generate the most engagement so far, suggesting that an increasingly large number of players are managing to find the game. Feedback has also been mostly positive, which is really the most important metric for me. At the end of the day, TSSR is a game that's only really viable as a project of passion, and seeing people connect positively with the game is a great motivator to keep me hitting my own daily wordcount-goals.
Preparing a new update build is always a good deal of work, more so this time around because I also tried to build out my own official Android version. But after building out a new update, I thankfully manage to get back to doing what I love most, producing the game itself.
This brings me to the other part of this post, looking forward towards V0.3!
As always, so close to the release of the last version, I can't make any concrete estimates on the date, but I hope to be able to continue producing the game at the current rate.
V0.3 will see us whiplash away from across the sea, from the far and forgotten lands of Bagrad, all the way back to where the story first began, Rosanna. Because v0.3 will see an expansion of the "Ruler"-path.
Specifically, it will see an expansion on the storyline for players that decide to remain with Thomas (and win the war against the tribesmen), and either choose to get involved with Varga, or choose to remain single (for the time being?).
Concretely, we will see more scenes featuring Varga, and new scenes with one existing character that does not have any, and new scenes with a character that has so far not yet appeared. In addition to the explicit scenes, there will of course also be new illustrations to drive forward the other plot points.
I'm excited to be sharing snippets of this new content over the coming weeks, as well as releasing some high-res versions of existing content from the previous release, and some behind-the-scenes sketch-to-completed artwork.
For now, enjoy this small preview piece of Sarah who seems to have gotten herself into a bind.
