Hey everybody! I've been super busy with freelance this month and also skipped work for a few days because I wasn't feeling well.

Ultimately I didn't feel like I got far enough in Bowling Alone (and didn't do enough essay work generally) to warrant charging. I really appreciate having it as an option but I'm in a much better place financially than I was in January and I'd rather only charge if I can give solid patron-only content and/or worked a lot on an essay.

I think it went very well! I will try to get it up within the next week or so?? I asked Nick for the inspiration for the voice of his Desmond character (a half-human half-gremlin hybrid) and he got up and put his Desmond teeth in. That's what this photo is of.

CHARGE POST FOR JAN - ROGER DEAKINS EVENT WRITEUP

I rewrote more of the script and made progress on it. I pulled an all-nighter to catch up on other work and at like 1 PM in a delirium cut the rough of the above video and I'm enamored with how weird/stupid/sincere in expressing the video's thesis it is. It'll be part of the intro to the video.

The big secret is I emailed Nick and was like "hey would you be interested in my friends and I coming up to Chattanooga to interview you?" and he agreed. We have not worked out a date yet or any...

11/20 Update

Hey all! I have been working on contract/part time work on weekdays and have been busy every single weekend, so I've barely touched the essay since the last update apart from making selects and trying to rework some of the script. On top of being busy with work and family/friend stuff I had a minor health issue and some other random stress this month though I'm much better now. So it goes.

Reworking intro

I didn't intend to do two updates so close together (don't worry I won't start spamming them lol), but since I shared this on twitter at 3 AM, I figured I should share it here as well. I quit my job at the beginning of this month. I have a new part-time/contract gig I've really been enjoying but am still looking for other part-time (or full-time, depending!) remote work as well if any patrons know of a company hiring a remote editor. And if you know any eccentric rich people who would pay me to make a documentary, that's on the table too...

Little Update Plus Question

Hello! Apart from making more selects I haven't really had time to work on the Lutsko video.

I have been working on three concurrent Kickstarter videos due in October as freelance (though I finished one already!) along with recording for Oddity Roadshow and working my job. Do you know we did an improvised musical episode? I cannot sing or do improv. It was still really fun.
