This time it features the kiss of Sarah and Samayra in the garden of the palace.
Development for this scene was a particular challenge for a few reasons. The first was the setting and design of the garden itself, needing to strike a balance between feeling both large and yet also capture the intimacy of the moment that I tried to communicate about the relationship between these two characters.
Initially, the characters of Sarah/Samayra were featured far more centrally in the image, which gave the a contrast between the characters sort of drowning in the image, or otherwise blocking out the garden and making it feel small.
The solution proved to be in shifting the characters around, instead nestling them into a corner of the image, and making that corner feel like a secluded part of the garden, which gave the option of opening up the rest of the frame, which allowed the garden to feel large.
I think it ended up being a really great design, definitely one of my favorite CG's from the last update.
