Growth of a scene

This particular scene features the exam that Sarah has to complete, if the player decides to go down what I informally call the "soldier"-path.
The inspiration for the idea behind this particular artwork comes from my long love of spaghetti-westerns. In westerns, there is often an iconic duel-at-high-noon scene, where the protagonist faces down the antagonist. In this art, we can see iconic elements of those types of scenes, such as the framing of the protagonist/antagonist, and elements like dust clouds passing between them in the moment before the violence.
At this particular moment in the story, Sarah has suffered a series of setbacks, but she is beginning to reclaim her power, growing to be more confident in herself now that she is stronger, and better able to defend herself. To communicate this to the player, Sarah is standing in a power-pose, showing you that despite everything, she isn't afraid in this moment.
The exam is the moment where this small arc culminates, and so I thought it was the perfect place to put extra emphasis on the story by including a cg.
Additionally, it also functions as a really great way of demonstrating to players that while TSSR is an adult visual novel, it doesn't exclusively focus on erotic cg's. The story draws much broader, one in which erotic encounters are prominent, but not exclusively the focus. By including quality art that also draws attention to other moments in the story, I think it deepens player's connection to the story-at-large, rather than just have it be a slide-show erotic images.
