For a few technical reasons, like the fact that it had a light armor piercing round, was an automatic with very little recoil, high fire rate, and decent reliability, but the real honest and true reason? I had a cool picture and I grew up on Stargate SG-1. The name Daniel Carter should have been a bit of a giveaway hehe. Also at the time I was doing a lot of ballistics research (most of which was pointless, admittedly) that had new numbers showing that the 5.7 outperformed 9mm in most categories and the fifty round magazines were a nice touch, since the UMP, MP5 and MP7 all seem to cap out around 30 rounds. Granted some drums existed but their performance was... spotty.

He treats her like she wants to be treated, like a peer and an equal. Plus she kinda likes older guys, something that I've found isn't terribly uncommon, so eh. I'm really glad you enjoyed the story and I'm happy for your support, so thank you! I always wanted to write a RE fic, and I'm glad I got the chance to add to the selection out there.

I feel like there are so little amount of decent stories out there worth reading on the RE-verse... Anyway, the chapter itself? Gold. Can't wait to see where you take it from here.... I'm just surprised that Becca doesn't seem to care that much for the age difference, I could see it being a point of contention here and there..... But that NSFW Scene? Chef's kiss. I'm someone that believes that NSFW scenes, as long as they're realistic, simply add to a story's realism.. so I enjoy them. They're a part of life, so why not have them be a part of our protags lives, right?

There always seemed to a feeling that she was the nervous wilting flower of the group and I never understood that. You don't get into special forces on any level without being VERY proactive in your life, in all aspects. Sometimes to a detrimental degree. I will say that balancing this aspect of her with the aspect that she's generally inexperienced at life and relationships enough to not dive into all the things surrounding Danny has been a challenge. I literally have pages of psychological background on her personality type that I use.

Though as a small hint to the future, well, Jill is more of a girly girl despite the tough exterior. She might be a bit more fun hehe.

I'm glad hear you've been enjoying the story. It's been a real blast to write, even if the chapters have kinda consumed my life a little.

2025-09-14 03:29:34 +0000 UTCI'll throw my two cents in. I'm just giving my opinion, not trying to be super critical. When I was younger I was interested in a NSFW scene here and there. However as I've hit my twenties, I see NSFW scenes as a distraction from the plot. I am interested in the story's premise first and character interactions second. Not to say that I hate character interaction and I have liked what you've done with Daniel interactions in the shooting club, community outreach stuff, and Rebecca interactions. However, once they are dating, I can imagine what happens if you just imply it and have a fade to black. With NSFW scenes, I just think about the time and effort put into that versus all those words being used to advance other parts of the story. Regardless, I've been really enjoying the story as a RE fan. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Once upon a time someone told me that they like a little lewd in their romances just because they want a better payoff than a chaste kiss at the end and I kinda agree. Plus I just find it funny writing that stuff. I'm glad you enjoyed the adventure so far, as C11 was one of my favorite to write. Just having Danny and Rebecca finally Will They and get to it is a huge relief on my end. I don't have to be shark-in-the-water subtle about it any more.
