Thoughts on adding more of a plot to the game?

I know this genre is pretty laden with virtual novels and story driven games, so I kind of felt like it didn't need more of that. I would really live to hear what you all think on the matter! Also feel free to share in the comments, all of your input is valuable to me!

Thank you for this, it's an excellent point. My point of reference has always been original Pokemon and Zelda, link to the past. though I understand those games are a bit dated for some people. I agree that a little plot can go a long way to solidify the world. I have plans for next couple updates to have a casual arc with a few human girls, also thinking of ways to make each Sprite interaction a bit more impactful with a bit of duologue and maybe a short comic panel style scene. Sometimes it's hard to sit down and put hours into something when I'm not sure what people actually want, that's why these polls, and comments like this, are helpful, so thanks!
