Not sure if someone already answered elsewhere, but to Haley’s question about US law schools, the first year is still extra hard in order to weed out people who aren’t prepared, but the exams are scored, which can put your GPA in a big hole if you aren’t careful. My first semester was significantly harder than anything that happened in my 2L or 3L years.
