With two kids my most productive time during the day has become earlier and earlier and is around 9:30am now. When I work from home I try to take a half hour nap around 12:30pm and that has been a game changer for afternoon productivity.

2024-08-21 08:49:01 +0000 UTCHey all, I was browsing YouTube on my PS5 last week & up popped a 20 minute gameplay video for a game called 'Europa' the art looked gorgeous from the thumbnail so I went in & my goodness this game looks incredible. It's very Studio Ghibli inspired in it's art style & the environments look breathtaking. You can even see some Breath Of The Wild inspiration in there too. The developer is called Helder Pinto & the game is apparently due soon on PC. Has anyone at Minnmax been following this or have I missed any discussions about it on Bonus Pod? Thanks Brian

Around the same time, I discovered Minnmax through the Deepest Dive for Alan Wake 2, as well as walking for exercise. I was listening to the podcast while walking and brilliantly walked right into a hole, injuring my knee. After a month on my back and doing my own deepest dive into the Minnmax catalog, I was able to stand on my knee for 15 minutes daily. I resumed walking asap. 10 months later, I walk 90 minutes four times a week and am still a non-smoker. Last Sunday was my 40th birthday and Monday was my first day of school to become a registered nurse. The podcast has been on a bit of a journey with me. Looking forward to (insert Asheville meetup plug)!

He was super nice and we had some great small talk since his wife is learning Ukrainian and it's my second language. I have over the years ran into many artists I really appreciate but who aren't necessarily a-listers. What was an encounter you had with someone who isn't a huge star but is someone whose work you appreciate very much.

Once we were playing Watchdogs II coop. I had found this alley full of guys that looked really hard to kill. I took cover and began to strategically plan our attack. I told my brother to approach quietly as to not prematurely draw their attention. Just then my brother came barreling through the alley from behind me in a truck. He crushed my body and smashed our would be enemies :) Strategy out the window. Blissful chaos. I laughed so hard I couldn't hold the controller anymore. Gaming is Rad! :)

I saw a whole nervous system intact in lucite. It was weird, incredibly interesting, and eerie. We went as an EMT class as we learned about anatomy. I now question the ethics of it all, but it was fascinating.

I do think this is the next big step for museums to take advantage of and change from just a walk and read to immersion driven experiences. I saw a video for Kyle and Marcus Stewart completing their Majora's Mask Super Replay on GI, and naturally I had to put it on hold and start the series from where it all began! This led be to the bizarre revelation that Kyle Hilliard remembers Zelda Ocarina songs by memorizing a random sequence in the middle of the song, then just repeating that sequence until the song triggers? I believe he claimed this method was like memorizing fighting game combos. This leads me to two questions: 1) Absolutely no shade to Kyle for this unconventional approach, but I'm just curious if it correlates with not having learned a musical instrument? It's such a funny idea of Link starting a song in the middle and playing to the end, then playing the first half after that. 2) Are there any unconventional approaches to video game tasks/challenges that the crew has and are particularly fond of?

The truth is that Pangea did not exist when the Earth was first created and was not even the first super continent. The Earth started with seperate landmass, much like now, but shifting of tectonic plates brought them together and eventually back apart. Rest assured that the continents are still slowly shifting and will one day collide into a new super continent, but you will have been smited by me long before that happens.

Help settle this raiders debate made famous by big bang theory, where they postulated that Indiana jones had no impact on the story at all. Am I on an island for thinking that the creepy German Toth tailed Indy onto the plane to Mongolia to find Marion? He never mentions the head piece to the staff of Ra to Marion, only saying he wanted “the same thing Dr jones wanted.” He didn’t know what it was or where to find Marion! Also, while we’re on the subject, isn’t it weird that Spielberg basically plagiarized himself in the scene with Belloq and Marion having dinner by copying the set up for the second murder in his Columbo episode “murder by the book”?

Last year was Tim Schafer games and Damon Lindelof shows. This year I'm doing Remedy games (with a detour into Max Payne 3 because of Something Rotten). What are some other creators or studios that would be interesting to play all their games back to back?

Nothing makes me madder looking for an official game reveal and finding gamespot, ign, etc videos with ads before the official uploader's official post of the video without any ads. I don't know anything about SEO, but it feels like it could be a chance to grow the MinnMax brand and redirect people to the main channel just by having another source of those reveals and trailers that doesn't play ads. No idea why people watch those other versions, but they get pushed above the official ones... could be a growth and goodwill opportunity? Unless youtube is pushing them to play more ads to people... dammit capitalism!
