Jake Solomon is my game design spirit animal 🤣 I loved hearing his description about elements of randomness helping make those tactics puzzles continually interesting and he sees them as a fundamental part of tactics game. I know with the success of Mario & Rabbids a lot of people want the 0/50/100 chance to hit to become the standard but I prefer the modular percentages of Xcom/Fire Emblem because it provides more options to improve those odds and make meaningful choices
