MinnFAQs - 2020 Plans, Thumbnails, Deepest Dive

Hello everyone and welcome to the new year! We streamed MinnFAQs at a different time this week for $20 supporters so we have some new voices in the chat to help volley questions about the year ahead for MinnMax. In this installment, we talk about YouTube thumbnails, MinnMax's logo, and how we choose the next Deepest Dive. At the end of the month, we'll have a live call-in episode of MinnFAQs and we'd love to have you join us!

Hey Ben, if you guys are having trouble with your monologues maybe try putting a dry erase board next to the camera out of view. That way the bullet points you guys want to discuss are there and maybe it will help you stay focused. Idk just an idea. Really enjoying the content and looking forward to much more this year.

Also, stop worrying about "stepping on toes" or "doing something too obvious". There is no such thing as over-saturation of personality-driven content, because every personality is different. Even if every channel under the sun does a RE3 let's play leading in to the R3make, yours would be the only one featuring the unique perspectives of Kyle, Suriel, and Jeffm. Which is what Patreon members are here for in the first place.

Ben, I think you'd be an idiot to leave money on the table vis-á-vis "pay to play" tabletop streams, as long as you're clear upfront about which tabletop streams are paid and which are for your tabletop review series. You always say "MinnMax is a Patreon", but that's not true. MinnMax is a business, and businesses that fail to diversify their revenue streams never stand the test of time. Patreon is great, but it can't be your only source of income. Remember that time Patreon almost committed suicide by changing their policy on service fees? ( https://blog.patreon.com/updating-patreons-fee-structure/ ) Remember all the Youtube channels ruined by the Adpocalypse? ( https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2017/09/18/adpocalypse-2017-heres-what-you-need-to-know-about-youtubes-demonetization-troubles/amp/ ) If you're really opposed to paid streams, I suppose that's your prerogative, but please find additional ways to monetize your business so that you aren't totally at the whim of a single platform that is far outside of your control.
