Inspired by a drawing I did back in 2019 with an old-timey, ectoplasm-y kid that I felt didn't quite hit the mark so wanted to try and draw again:
I find the whole turn-of-the-century Spiritualism movement to be very interesting while also very ridiculous and really love all the old photos from that time period. Even more so than usual, white folks at the end of Victorian era just went bananas being all weird and occult— if they weren't summoning weird egg white manifestations, they were digging up mummies and eating them and if they weren't eating mummies they were probably busy doing some other racism.
And they say white people have no culture 💀
