Yes that is indeed Sarah Jane looking very young, makes me sad that she’s no longer with us. I watched these episodes again not very long ago, probably for the same reason you’re watching them. I’d forgotten how good Tom Baker is. The effects are a bit quaint, compared with today’s show, but imagine how exciting it was back in the day. I would have been about 18 years old in 1975 when this first came out. This story is quite well thought of by whovians.

At first I didn't understand why your moderator didn't recommend "Tales of the TARDIS" because they modernized some of the classic episodes a bit. "Tales of the TARDIS is a companion series to the television series Doctor Who which features re-releases of stories from the show's original run, enclosed by additional material featuring actors reprising their roles. " After watching it, it became clear why. But you can watch the first 6 episodes whenever you want, they are much easier for you to consume than the original classic episodes. I haven't seen all the classic episodes either, just a few. I hope your moderator agrees with this and recommends them to you.
