The reason this series only has 6 episodes is because it was filmed during COVID. At one point we almost had no Doctor Who so I am really grateful for this series. I enjoy it.

"That high-gravity circus workshop. Who were the top two in the class? Ready?", The Doctor, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
It is nice to have a continuity of Doctor and a companion between series especially if we just lost two nice companions.
BTW: that upside-down change of perspective reminded me of a famous Penn & Teller trick on SNL.
"Release! Oh, maybe I was Scottish when I set them up. RRRRRelease! RRRRRelease!", The Doctor, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
And I liked callback to the Capaldi Doctor.
"Nice to meet you, Dan. Run for your life!", The Doctor, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
A "Rose"-episode callback! Also, there was another callback to Classic Who in the episode which I won't quote - spoilers!
"I make your punters happy. What's the point of being alive if it's not to make others happy?", Dan Lewis, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
I must admit I was a bit worried you might find the accent of Dan (played by John Bishop) a bit hard to understand.
"Kneel before the might of the Lupari.", Karvanista, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
The Lupari are an interesting idea - resembling dogs and honour-bonded to a particular human. I liked the twist that they're not actually invading Earth, they're saving people. They may look a bit funny and I wondered about whether we were resurrecting the idea of the cat-nuns, but dog-humanoids in space - that's a fun premise.
"Here, hold this. Where is it? Ah. Leftover hopper virus particles should do the trick.", The Doctor, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
Ooh, I really like it when the Doctors have to empty their pockets. This happened a bunch of times in Classic Who and in New Who as well - and it's always fun. And we get the "Orphan 55" episode callback as well.
"Right, synchronise watches. Forget that, I'm not wearing a watch.", The Doctor, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
I like the Doctor just being chaotic too.
"The Flux is imminent. I forecast incredible suffering. Vast bloodshed. A conflict that will dwarf all that has come before.", Kragar, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
Kragar, the Sontaran in the hologram, is played by Dan Starkey who played the character of Strax in the Paternoster Gang. We last saw him as Strax in "Deep Breath" but we last saw the actor in Doctor Who playing an elf in "Last Christmas".
And speaking of recurring monsters, it is nice to have the Weeping Angels back - and I like them doing their original Weeping Angel time-zappy thing.
"We were supposed to be sneaking in quietly.", "Sorry.", Yaz and Dan, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
Dan is pretty funny.
"The Cloister Bell. It's a warning.", The Doctor, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
The Cloister Bell! Thumbs up to them for including the Cloister Bell in the episode!
"Stop asking about the Division. That's not a question I can answer.", Karvanista, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
So, the Doctor is still hunting around trying to understand about the Division. And she's keeping her concerns a secret from Yaz.
"The end of the universe. I always wondered what it would feel like.", The Doctor, "The Halloween Apocalypse"
Well ... er ... yes, I did curate that image of Swarm - I mean it is the default IMDB image for the episode, but I did decide it was best image they had. And as soon as you turned away from the screen when he first appeared I thought: "Well that will make the end-of-episode rating's page image interesting."
