I know what you mean, most of the Series of this show feel very different watching them for the second time after knowing the resolution in the end. :)

I might be wrong here, but aren´t the TARDIS keys also able to call the TARDIS? If I remember correctly the Doctor mentioned that to Rose back when he gave her the key. I took that as a given. But I might be misremembering.

I´m so glad that I seem to be wrong about Missy beeing a "Shadow Missy" because it means she could easily come back. :) Thank you for letting me know :)
It makes sense to me, that we don´t really need the simulations anymore. I just wish they had written the story in a way, that would have those simulations as a part of a bigger story plot. Playing with different timelines and realities, cause that´s what I love about this show. The "Pandorica finale" had one of the best examples of what I mean, and I enjoyed the jumps between realities and times so much, I just wish they had done something similar in this series as well.
Yeah that TARDIS "plot hole" was a bummer, and in addition to the explanation about the ventilation system that is supposed to blow out toxic stuff into the environment didn´t make sense to me either. I´m usually not that picky about flaws and polt holes, but those seemed too big for me to ignore them.

Oh thank you for the info about Missy, that makes me really happy. Cause it means she could really be back in one of the next episodes :)
Yeah that episode didn´t work for me. But after last week, I already knew that it would be hard for the following episode. Let´s see what happens this week :)

Definitely not as strong an episode as last week's - but entertaining enough. The Monks modus operandi is somewhat contrived; but the resolution of the 'eye-sight subplot' is highly effective. As usual with a continuing story arc, though, it's difficult to guage without knowing the resolution. How will this all be wrapped up; and how effectively..?

On the subject of the Tardis I don't recall a time when the Doctor has been able to summon the Tardis to him except one time when he had a device on him to do so back in classic. I don't know if using his fingers to click open the Tardis door would also work from where he was but with less than two minutes I don't think it would be enough time to explain to Erica how to pilot the Tardis to him even if she could get in.

I forgot to say, I also liked Erica she would make a great companion.

I am sure that the scenes last week with Missy were genuine flashbacks and not part of the simulation. In fact I think that the real version of the Doctor actually talks to her briefly through the door of the vault.
I do agree with you that this episode is not as good as last week's. But that is a pretty high bar to set. The fact that this one isn't set in a virtual world is unavoidable really. That simulation was only created so the Monks could see when the Earth was vulnerable to a major disaster and in need of their "help". Now they know the facts they can intervene in the real world.*.
I don't recall having an issue with the Tardis being nearby when I first watched this. I just accepted that The Doctor couldn't communicate with Nardole and was therefore on his own.
Now you have pointed it out I agree that having Nardole pilot the Tardis out of the lab before collapsing to the floor would have been better. And I can see that it may be considered a plot hole. But for me it is still only a minor one and doesn't spoil my enjoyment.
The actual nature of the bio disaster actually seems a bit harder to accept as plausible than the final scenes. Or maybe that is wishful thinking on my part!
I do still like the creepy appearance of The monks. And I love Erica. Bill being motivated by love of the Doctor is a nice twist and the repeat scene of Bill and Penny is played beautifully.
Not perfect of course and not a patch on Extremis but I still enjoyed the ride and would probably give it an 8.4
*if there is a real world!

I don’t think that the Missy scenes were part of the simulation. It was a flashback from long ago (I think) as for your issues with him not calling the tardis I really can’t say. It seems like something he should be able to do, but it didn’t spoil the episode for me. Not as good as last week, but I still enjoyed it. I’m sorry that you didn’t. But hey ho we all have different expectations. xx
