Jodie in Latex

Jodie came over the other day for some experimentation in liquid latex. It worked fairly well. Less smooth than hoped, but it was really fun (if stinky) getting it on and off. Here's a snapshot of the peeling process, which took the two of us about 15 minutes to remove. It was, apparently, quite painful, despite the copious amounts of oil we applied before the latex.

It's still crazy dead out there.

It's dead and it shows no signs of changing. I'm still selling off a lot of my personal stuff to try and pay for a new studio building, but I'm starting to question the logic of dropping several tens of thousands of dollars to build it when I'm bringing in so little money.

But in the meantime, I have put together another magazine. Remember those Patreon mags from 2017? It's the first new issue since then, with content written by me and some of my photo clients, as well as some frien...

It's miserable

It's just miserable out here. I've had 4 shoots this month and nothing now until next month. People who do come to the studio tell me that there's literally no one else their friends recommended besides me, so I'm pretty confident I'm not the problem. But no one's got money. And no one's got the spoons. I put out a thing for free nude shoots. Got two applicants, and nothing's come of it yet. I put out a thing for half price shoots and got literally nothing.

This sort of light and colour is something I've been chasing for a while. I like the dream-like feel of it, and that I didn't have to sacrifice clarity to get it. It's hard to keep the detail and still get bright and ephemeral, to maintain enough shadow while still keeping it bright.

Montanna

Montanna's a multi-talented performer. She does aerials, with several apparatus, and she's a dancer, and she's been a Disney princess in Japan and China, and... So on!

But she's never flapped a piece of cloth in a shed before. ^__^

Big Deletions

With a heavy heart I've just deleted all nude content from this Patreon, as well as all the links to same.  

There's no good reason for me to send my government ID to an overseas agency just to prove to Mastercard that I'm over 18, so I won't.

The tip tier will remain active for now, but that's just a convenient way for anyone who wants to support my work, to do so.  If they're daft enough to do that, anyway.

Patreon wants me to send my ID to a random company that will totally for real keep my data safe, just to prove that I'm over 18, because I sell nude images of other people.  

It's dumb, and so I want to shift to DeviantArt.

But none of my wonderful supporters here have responded when I mentioned this previously, so as yet I don't think anyone's paid the one-time $5 fee to see the gallery there.

News and So On

Good afternoon!  Happy July!  Etc!

Some things and goings on around here:

1. The industry here, and probably everywhere, is in a bit of a slump.  The cost of living in Australia is skyrocketing, mortgage costs are about to hit a steep increase in payments, the studios from which I draw my clients are all suffering as discretionary spending is cut way, way back.  

And as a result, I'm suffering too.  Paid shoots are at an all time low.  Even the...

I was really excited to announce a bunch of new stuff this week, but 5 girls have canceled on me this week alone, one twice.

Two aerialist sisters ran out of time before their seven month cruise ship contract kicks off tomorrow. One girl canceled a duo session because her partner injured her shoulder. One got called in to work and delayed a couple of days, and today canceled again.

Last week it was another injury, and covid.

It's enough to make me look for a career chan...

On Creativity

Things have really been shaken up in my life over these past few weeks.  And it seems like, in discussion with therapists (get a therapist, the good ones are absolutely life-changing) it looks like we may have a plan to get me back on track.

It's working so far, if the recent shoot with Dana is any indication.  =)

Xmas News!

I have started a new mini-project, doing 12 days of Xmas nudes.  This year I'm starting it well in advance so that I can actually have it done in December instead of, like, March.  

So far I've got seven of twelve models scheduled for shoots, and at least 14 more who say they want to do it but haven't yet committed to a date.  Of those, I expect imminent good news from at least three, so the full dozen should be easily achieved very soon.

Further to my assertions that it's tough going right now, an update about my weekend:  

I had 8 clients come for a shoot on Saturday.  Which is to say, 8 booked, 5 showed up.  Two were sick and postponed, one just ghosted everyone and who even knows where she went.  

Today I had a dancer lined up for some nudes and she sent me a snap on Friday with the view from her hospital bed.  So she's out.

Flood Update

First pic: the water on the floor.  Those aren't shadowed areas, that's a centimeter or so of muddy water making the floor brown.  

The damage to the floor was much reduced after 2 days of running 3 large industrial fans all day.  The bubbling paint settled back down, and except for this small patch on the cyc wall (and a lingering moldy smell) the damage was minor.

Australian Floods

You may have heard about the floods in Australia, and you might see the suburb of Goodna being mentioned a lot.  Last time, in 2011, I lost just about everything.  This time I'm way above the flood line, and I was telling someone just this morning that I was fine.

Turns out the studio flooded some time after Saturday morning.  So Tuesday morning I go to get one of my industrial hair-blowing fans, only to find that the studio's under 1cm of water.  Now all my fans ar...

I'm still alive.

I am fully aware of the total lack of images I've delivered for the last...  lifetime and a bit.
Covid's still wreaking havoc with my shoot schedule, and for the last week I've had to cancel a shoot because I'm so sick (It's not covid) my doctor's given me antibiotics.  I haven't been ill in several years, so this is...  An unwelcome reminder that these things are possible.

Tegan's new in the studio.  She's an instructor at a Gold Coast aerials studio, but she's leaving there and I wanted to get a shoot in before she was gone forever.

Drawin' Stuff

Things are still slow around here.  I did a Pantheon shoot last weekend which I hope to share in a day or three, and I've got two bodies coming in for another in two days.  After that I've got only one scheduled shoot for the whole of June.

An Apology

Pantheon Project 2

I've been itching to do another Pantheon Project for a while.  It's finally time to kick it into motion and so far the response has been really good.  I've got eight athletes signed up already, one shoot in the bag, and two more scheduled for the next week.  Some bodies will be returning for another round, but I expect most of them will be new to the Pantheon.
