August 2024 Los Injurus update

Finally it's here!

After much work, and a lot of effort, the outer-loop highway is completely redone now. Some 4.5~5 miles or so of highway is completely redone and a mile of new highway has been added. This should make your experience running the outer-loop rather seamless now. Some goofiness with AI traffic in the middle lane for about 2 miles of it may be expected (approaching the large cloverleaf interchange that goes to the island air-base if you run counter-clockwise on the outer-loop), but the next game update (whenever that drops) may fix this. If not I will fix it. The game does not properly support 3 lanes of traffic for some reasons, which I found out only AFTER I made 2+ miles of it. I did the rest of the new highway update with the standard 2 lane + 1 lane setup for the AI. Still, I find that you'll have a lot of fun with the new stuff. One new thing is a HUGE new custom dam model, including it's own pair of large parking areas for hundreds upon hundreds of vehicles, a traffic circle (small), it's own spawn point, and a beautiful through-arch bridge (custom model also) for the highway in-front of the dam. There's also a regular road going across the top of the dam between the two parking areas and carries the surface road that got flooded out with the lake made of water held behind the dam. A huge amount of terrain has been re-shaped, miles of curbing added, miles of sidewalk added, a new gas station, one interchange updated, at-least 3 full interchanges added, two partial interchanges, a new tunnel, a huge long curving bridge and hundreds of signs. Most all the update has been in the new area, with little work done on other areas.

Cypress tree orange-texture-bug has been fixed. Translucent flat roof texture bug has also been fixed (on the original concept houses if you know where that area is).

Several small AI fixes also have been done.

However, as I said, most of the work has been done in the area with the re-done highway.

In the future, I will be needing to sign up to Mega (unless someone wants to gift a subscription, due to file size nearly going over 5GB which could cause a wait), but I will also be hosting on alternative sites and not just BeamNG Drive's own website in the future also.

Let me know if there's any trouble with the download, but do make sure your browser picks up the link including all the numbers (which is a key of sorts) after the pound (#) sign, just in-case it doesn't.

Thank-you for your very loyal support. I may be in the hospital next week at some point, I think my something inside my abdomen is torn and it's causing me SERIOUS pain. Anyone else would be crying a river due to it, but not only could that flood Los Injurus (and that's a big place), but it also wouldn't help get things done any faster. With the back pain and near-continuous migraines I've been putting up with, this new pain is just another day. Thankfully the 20~25lbs I lost in the last 75 days has helped the pain levels more than I thought it ever could. Only another 25~30lbs to go and I'm at my exact optimal weight, and won't be towing such a trailer around any more.

I sure made the staff laugh at the weight loss clinic though, when I pointed down in pure shock/fear and I yelled "WHAT ARE THOSE!??? AHHH!!!" Doc: "Those are FEET, you have two of them." me: "I NEVER SAW THOSE DOWN THERE BEFORE!" ...

What a wonder weight-loss is. If you have a few extra pounds (more than 20), maybe give it a shot. It might just give you a new lease on life, or make your existing one feel a lot less expired.

That's if you're not spending too much time roaming Los Injurus, however.

Thank-you for the support; then, now, and at any point in the future.  It means the world and helps a guy on a fixed income (disabled) pay the bills and not incur any additional expenses from this project such as money for software / subscriptions, models, textures, or anything else... (plus the computer is 5 years old now and will eventually fail out and need to be replaced, but for now it's fast enough and does what it needs. I will keep it until it dies for good or BeamNG blows it up. NO needless or "I WANT" computer upgrades are purchased, only necessary stuff like replacing failing components or an additional SSD to store project data and backups when-needed and only then). I don't live some lavish life, I have a 20+ year old car (Toyota) but it runs for the most part and I get by just fine as-is currently, and I'm fine with that. I have food and the lights are on, bills paid, etc, what more to ask? Never been one to jump to having bank loans / car payments etc, I just wasn't raised that way. However, sometimes this project incurs costs with things, and the generous donations from you folks on here help support that, and I appreciate this. Even if it's paying for something as simple as a can of bee-spray for church (so that the older veteran who's deathly allergic doesn't have to worry about getting stung by the wasps who took up residence TWO FEET from the door), it's definitely put to good use and highly appreciated.

The only time I ask folks to NOT donate to the project, is if there's trouble paying monthly bills or keeping food on the table. Those things come first. I will get by regardless, but will never look down on folks who are having a rough time - we've ALL been there, including myself. We only hope for better, but until then, we can bide our time hooning about in Los Injurus. Maybe it won't be too long before I get those MENACE TO PIANO SOCIETY missions scripted in...

Please make me aware of any major issues on the Los Injurus project thread on the BeamNG website. You all should have that in your browser history by now.
